MASS HYSTERIA is a horror/comedy about a modern day witch hunt. The film is funny, scary, quirky and serious. And just like people from all over the world come to visit Salem, MA, we believe a global audience will want to see MASS HYSTERIA again and again. We invite you to join our team!

Mission Statement

We believe EVERYONE deserves to tell stories. Representation is important, and we started with our leadership: MASS HYSTERIA features a male-female directing duo as well as a 50% female crew.

The Story

Mass Hysteria opens in modern day Salem. The city’s long and bloody history has been reduced to essentially a Halloween theme park. The Witch Trials are a thing of the past, and dressing up like witches and wizards and getting wasted is the present.

Tourists descend every October like a plague of locusts. They’re not here to learn about the past. They’re here to dress sexy and party hard.

But not everyone is out to party. Our hero, PAIGE, and her misfit actor friends try to teach the true history of The Witch Trials every year through the only way they know how: local theater.

Paige has dreams of acting for audiences that actually care about the material. She has one last show before moving away to New York. As the accused “witch” in the play, Paige curses the audience of rowdy tourists.

And one of them dies.

Drunk and out of control, the crowd is convinced that Paige is a real witch. When more tourists start dying, they figure the only way to stop the deaths is to do what Salem’s ancestors did: kill the witch.

As the bodies pile up, Paige has no choice but to try to escape this night of MASS HYSTERIA.
