The Story
What is Mixed Signals?
It's a flirty, emotionally sharp rom-com with a twist. When a quick-witted young woman begins therapy, she becomes unexpectedly fixated on her therapist’s new girlfriend. However, the connection between them runs far deeper than either of them realize. Mixed Signals blends laugh-out-loud comedy with heart-squeezing drama, exploring the fine line between healing and attraction, and the beautiful mess that happens when secrets come to light.
Think: the charm of films like Hitch, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and When Harry Met Sally, the unpredictability of real-life love stories.
Why me? I’ve spent years as an actor and a mental health therapist, and I believe the greatest stories are created from truth. I know how to tell a story that’s not just entertaining, but deeply human. I’ve seen what happens when attraction, healing, and emotional boundaries collide. I want to put that truth on screen with warmth, wit, and honesty in my first feature film as a filmmaker.
Why this story? Because so many of us are navigating love while still carrying unspoken histories. Mixed Signals shines a light on that. Through awkward dates, unexpected connections, and the kind of twist that makes you rethink everything. It’s a rom-com for anyone who’s ever laughed through the ache.
Why now? We need stories that feel real again. Audiences are craving authenticity in films that remind us of the joy, vulnerability, and humor in simply being human. This is an indie project made with heart, and your support is what will bring it to life. Together, we can make a movie that’s not just watched, but felt.

We’re in pre-production, building the foundation for a shoot that will bring Mixed Signals to life. By donating and contributing to this project, your support will assist with funding our talented actors and a skilled, passionate crew. Also by helping us create the designs and locations needed for the visual tone of a modern, heartfelt rom-com. Also assisting with the costs of post-production with editing, sound, and color to make the story shine.
Our plan is to campaign for 30–45 days of full-on rom-com energy, then our filming begins as soon as funding is complete. We're aiming for an Autumn filming schedule (because all that fall foliage would make a great backdrop for this story). Along the way, backers will receive numerous perks and incentives through their contributions. No amount of support is too big or too small as every contribution gets us one step closer to our bringing our vision to life. Of course if we exceed our goal, we can afford upgraded cinematography, post-production editing and sound, and expanded festival submissions, exploring multiple distribution options and finding ways to access a broader audience nationally and internationally.

About This Team
Krystle is who you want by your side for every project. She’s the calm and the voice of reason. She will make sure everyone is familiar with their part and make sure everyone is on the same page every day of filming.
Alex has a ton of experience as a filmmaker, director, producer, an editor, and has been instrumental in so much of the behind the scenes, day to day process of bringing this project together.
Anthony Fletcher gave me my first chance to be in an indie film. His work ethic, dedication, and energy have kept us keeping tabs on each other almost a decade later. His eye and his work speaks for itself with his numerous projects in both film and music.
