The Story
When up and coming poet, Frida, is invited to a party by her ex love, Chav, she attempts to revive this past relationship. Instead, Frida is confronted by heartbreak which forces her to see the love triangle she is entangled in. Will this realization keep her clinging to an idealized version of the past or force her to move ahead and leave this love behind?

The world needs more stories about Latinx Queer love.
For some time now I have been yearning to see a film about young love that reflected myself. One with ups and down, one with heartbreak, one with Queer women, and one with Latinx representation. It was so hard to find even with all the films of today! So I decided to write about what felt true to me in a story about something as universal as young love.
Telling a story of Queer love with real and authentic Latinx heritage is a story that should be VALIDATED and TOLD.

When heartbreak gets messy and painful it can be hard to see what’s right in front of us. Naranja Dulce aims to take an artistic approach to this universally hard feeling with a cast of unique and authentic characters who show us the beauty in
letting go of the past.
FRIDA
Frida is an up and coming poet with a hopeless romantic view of her former relationship. Frida leads with her heart and uses her poetry to understand her feelings and world. Frida is greatly inspired by poets from the 70s like Patti Smith.

CHAV
Chav is a folk musician who moved to NYC to pursue her music professionally. Chav lives for the adventures in life and finds it difficult to stay in one place or with one person for too long. Chav leads with her guts and connects with others and the world around her with her charm and songs.

Frida and Chav are already living and breathing characters on the page that need to
