The Story

30-year-old Danny has moved to Los Angeles with a vision of building out a life for himself. However, as he navigates stressful job interviews, awkward dates, and obnoxious house parties, one thing in particular seems to be holding him back: his oozing, infected nipple. Unable and unwilling to fix it himself, Danny views this infection as the source of his troubles and desperately tries to hide it. But is his nipple really what’s holding him back? Or is his personality to blame?
DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
Hello, it's me, the director. Taylor. "Niple" spawned from a personal infection I once had. During a bad bout of sickness, I was dreaming nonstop about different segments of my body failing. One dream in particular was about one of my nipples becoming incredibly infected, which then, like a domino effect, brought my life falling apart around me. Once I awoke, I noticed heavy inflammation in my nipple which immediately sent me to my computer. As someone who often overthinks about the stresses of life, I couldn't stop thinking about the story of an outsider who attempts to find solace in the disgusting situation he's found himself in. It was fate for me to create a story about bodily infections. I just didn't expect it to be one about man nipples.

LOOK, FEEL, AND ATMOSPHERE
The look of "Niple" is one of sweat, grime, and tears during one of the hottest summers in recorded history. "Niple" is an absurd fever dream through a strange man's psyche. Danny's attitude brings a cloud of darkness to the summer colors of the film. The project fuses humor and body horror together to create a gross and entertaining new story.
MEET DANNY
Danny likes to think he doesn’t fit in with “the crowd” and takes pride in doing his own thing. He’s a go-getter with lofty ambitions to jumpstart a great career and earn the affections of everyone around him, but he always seems to meet resistance in achieving those goals - including having to deal with an infected nipple he’s anxious to hide from people.
Danny will be played by the writer/director himself, Taylor Hentrup.
WHAT'S THE PLAN? WHERE WILL THE MONEY GO?
When we set out to make a “summer hang-out movie but gross” we want to deliver. As such, the scope of “Niple” is more audacious than any short we’ve made before, covering multiple different locations all across Los Angeles, with all kinds of uniquely wacky hijinks in each. But the time and location expenses required for that add up!
We also want to make sure we deliver on our premise, and a good portion of the budget will be allocated to the effects used to bring our protagonist to life in a way you’ve never seen before. This ain’t your grandpa’s nipple…
Creating our one-of-a-kind "niple" prosthetic
The rest of our budget will go towards equipment costs, feeding our cast and crew, art department expenses, and more.

Our plan is to shoot "Niple" at the end of 2024, with post-production taking place in early 2025. We'll be submitting the film to festivals around the world, so it won't be publicly available for a while. However, all contributors who pledge $25 or more will receive a link to the film as soon as it's finished in approximately early/mid-2025, well before the rest of the world will get to experience it!
THANK YOU!
We would not be able to make this film without generous patrons of the arts like yourself! Please consider making a contribution so Danny’s plight can be shared with audiences around the world.
We get it - times are tough and not everyone can afford to contribute. But if you feel as passionately about the future of original, independent film as us (or if you just love body horror), please consider sharing this page on social media or following us!
