The Story
![]()
Nocaretown emerged after a catastrophic bomb detonated centuries ago. It’s a dystopia where nothing is quite right. Nights stretch on for days. Clocks run backward. During the day, three suns dominate the sky.
Only two kinds of people live in Nocaretown: those crazy enough to stay and those too trapped to escape...
Life in Nocaretown is stagnant and meaningless…or so it seems until a filthy cowboy rides into town with a mysterious wooden box. Chaos erupts as the eccentric locals scramble to claim it, igniting a bloody, darkly comedic battle for power and meaning.
Little Birdie (the cult leader):
The persuasive and cunning leader of “The Ark,” a cult that promises cosmic blessings to its followers. Behind his eloquent words and charming facade, Little Birdie is a con artist who steals from his followers for his own benefit.
Majestic Mapp (the cowboy):
A grizzled, old cowboy driven by honor and duty. He enters Nocaretown with the weight of a promise tied to a mysterious wooden box. He swears to return the box to its rightful owner, even if it costs him his life.
Jake (the quiet killer):
A chilling and enigmatic man who hides a deeply disturbed psyche beneath a mask of normalcy. Haunted by the tragic loss of his son, Jake has developed a fractured psyche that compels him to seek solace and meaning in stealing material objects— even going so far as to kill.
Susie (the romantic):
The caring but naive granddaughter of Gladys who falls in love with Little Birdie. Blinded by love and loyalty, Susie becomes an unwitting accomplice to Little Birdie’s cult scam.
Petra (the begrieved wife):
The beautiful yet troubled wife of Jake. Petra is deeply traumatized by the death of her infant son. She battles constant doubts about Jake's fidelity and intentions. Drawn to Little Birdie, Petra finds solace and a renewed sense of hope in his cult teachings.
Gladys (the moral compass):
The devoted grandmother of Susie with a troubled past. Gladys is burdened by the emotional weight of her estranged brother Fletcher’s absence. Her life takes a dramatic turn when a mysterious wooden box appears at her doorstep.
Vagabond (the chosen one):
A mysterious drifter living on the streets of Nocaretown. After getting involved in a fight surrounding the wooden box, the Vagabond loses his sole source of joy— a white dinner plate with a smiley face. Through an unexpected moment of cosmic intervention, the Vagabond is gifted a chance to reclaim his happiness.

I have always been fascinated by how people find meaning in life.
In today's world, success is often measured by external achievements; the highest-paying, most-prestigious education, the largest group of friends... Yet few take the time to actually to look inward and explore who they are.
With Nocaretown, I aim to explore these ideas and highlight the absurdity of a world obsessed with materialism and superficiality. The film peels back the layers of societal expectations, exposing the existential crisis hiding beneath the surface.

To make Nocaretown a reality, we are looking to raise $6,000. This amount will help cover our production costs including location rentals, cast wages, and production design.
We understand this is an ambitious goal. Your support, no matter how small, will make a tremendous difference. If any part of Nocaretown resonates with you, please consider following our campaign, sharing it with friends or family, and (if you can) pledge to receive some exciting perks.
The success of this campaign will ensure that Nocaretown gets produced with the love and attention it deserves. Funds above our goal will be distributed through the following stretch goals:
- At $8,000 - We will be able to purchase custom-made costumes and props, to make the characters and world as detailed as possible.
- At $15,000 - We will be able to secure permits to exciting locations, making Nocaretown feel as authentic as possible!
- At $20,000 - We will be able to hire a professional publicist, license popular music, and submit to even more exclusive film festivals.
