Mission Statement
The Story
Woman is all the rage! Manufactured by a team of tried-and-true experts, she is elegant, classy, and programmed to please. Night after night, she dons her signature red lip and performs a solo act for the audience sitting behind the spotlight. They applaud with a fervor and holler their praise. What more could Woman ask for? She lives for their eyes alone...
But maintaining the perfect image is not such a perfect endeavor. High heels leave blisters, and even the best of makeup can't hide the strain. As the pressure of the audience's appetite grows, it will take every beautiful smile in Woman not to break.
"In 2025, I wrote and performed a one-woman show titled My Beautiful Smile, directed by the brilliant Debra De Liso. This story was crafted during a tumultuous time in my life, and I channelled so much of my anger, grief, and confusion into that piece. Months later, I met with Debra to discuss turning the play into a short film, and she responded with immediate insight and confidence in both the story and me. It was, of course, a no-brainer to have her direct this project. She is discerning, honest, and most importantly, trusts fully in the artist's vision. Now Presenting: 'Woman' is not a happy story-- but life is not always happy, and that's what makes the good days shine bright."- Camryn Chun

Our humble budget of $9,000 will bring Now Presenting: 'Woman' to life, and will go towards necessities like our hardworking cast and crew, a beautiful location, and the perfect equipment to film our story. In order to keep your generous contributions, Seed&Spark requires 80% of our goal to be met by the deadline. Here's the breakdown:
JUNE-AUGUST: Pre-production! Sit tight-- we're getting ready for our show.
SEPTEMBER: It's time to shoot, darlings! With the cast, crew, locations, and equipment that you've helped us assemble, we begin to film our story.
OCTOBER-NOVEMBER: Post-production! Music, color, sound and more, we're putting the pieces together and preparing our film for your eyes soon.
EARLY 2027: Festival submissions!

About This Team
Camryn Chun is an actor and writer from O'ahu, Hawai'i. She began her training at Diamond Head Theatre, and went on to study with the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She graduated with a B.A. in Theatre from USC’s School of Dramatic Arts, where she worked on mainstage, independent, and community theatre productions. On screen, she collaborated with graduate students at the School of Cinematic Arts, and trained with the Trojan Stunt Team as a stunt performer.
In 2025, Chun wrote and performed a one-woman show, titled “My Beautiful Smile,” which inspired the film, “Now Presenting: ‘Woman’”. Chun strives to humanize identities that still widely remain caricatures in popular media, and prioritizes integrity, intention, and sensitivity in her work.
Critically acclaimed actor, writer, and director, Debra De Liso is the recipient of the LA Women’s Theatre Festival's Rainbow Award for decades of work in forgotten communities, including incarcerated women and disabled artists. She has directed over 800 original solo plays, which have garnered many awards in Los Angeles and NYC.
Exhilarated, Debra just celebrated the world premiere of her first feature film “Wilma, Wu, and a stripper named Lorraine” to a sold out house for the Dances with Films Festival at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. She is so happy to learn that her film just garnered the Chicago Indie Film Awards's Best Indie Comedy Award! Debra recently retired from decades of teaching at USC and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She is now passionate about becoming a full-time filmmaker.
Sarah Winters is a Los Angeles-based cinematographer specializing in character-driven indies, comedies, and documentaries. Born and raised in Chicago, Sarah studied literature at Occidental College before starting her MFA in Film & Television Production at USC. There, in her filmmaking classes, Sarah discovered a love of camera and the expressive, image-based ways that cinematography could function like prose and poetry. She began working in the camera department while at USC and has freelanced full-time since graduating in 2017.
Sarah is a member of the Local 600 Cinematographers’ Guild, with credits spanning Comedy Central and MTV, branded work for Toyota, Mattel, and US Bank, and narrative projects screened at festivals around the world. In 2024, she was selected for AFI’s Cinematography Intensive for Women. Sarah gravitates toward stories about queer and femme identity, relationships, and urban life, and seeks to build strong visual languages alongside directors. In pursuit of this, she prioritizes creating collaborative, communicative, and down-to-earth set environments.
Oliviana Marie is a composer, lyricist and Summa Cum Laude graduate of USC’s Thornton School of Music. Oliviana’s the youngest winner of ASCAP’s Sammy Cahn Award (past winners include John Mayer, Cinco Paul) and is the first woman to be commissioned by Camarada Ensemble, composing “The Elements” for their 30th Anniversary. She’s a four-time Marvin Hamlisch International Music Award nominee in jazz, R&B, pop and classical composition, winning for best R&B song, presented by the late Clive Davis. Oliviana proudly serves as the youngest member on the ASMAC Board of Directors and is the chair of ASMAC’s Emerging Professionals Committee.
Lauryn Harrington is a Los Angeles based hair and makeup artist specializing in beauty, character makeup, hair styling, grooming, and special effects. Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Lauryn later spent time in Raleigh, North Carolina before moving to Los Angeles to pursue her passion for makeup artistry and creative direction, with a growing focus on film and television.
Her recent work includes hair and makeup for independent film, music video, and creative productions, with credits including “In the Valley,” “On the River Bank,” “Stay/Go,” and “Stop When Your Ancestors Say So.” Through each project, Lauryn enjoys exploring how hair and makeup can extend beyond aesthetics to help shape a character’s identity, personality, and story.
Lauryn is passionate about continuing to grow as an artist in the film and television industry and hopes to build a career creating memorable characters through beauty, transformation, and visual storytelling.
Saralydia is a graduate student at the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, where she is pursuing a master's degree in Public Relations and Advertising. Passionate about storytelling, strategic communications, and audience engagement, she enjoys helping meaningful stories connect with the audiences they're meant to reach. She recently worked alongside acclaimed writer, director, and producer Debra De Liso on the marketing campaign for “Wilma, Wu, and a stripper named Lorraine”, further strengthening her passion for independent film and entertainment marketing. She is grateful to support this project and looks forward to continuing to amplify stories that inspire conversation and connection.
