The Story
I've always loved horror movies, but I've also always loved stories about women. The messy friendships, the inside jokes, the old grudges nobody talks about until the third glass of wine.
Number One Bride was born from a dream (literally) and quickly became something I couldn't stop thinking about. As someone approaching a new chapter of life, I've watched friends get married, have babies, reinvent themselves, drift apart, and somehow find their way back to each other. Those relationships can be beautiful, complicated, hilarious, and occasionally make you want to commit a felony.
Taking place at my family's mountain cabin, Number One Bride follows a group of lifelong friends (and one mother in law) gathered for a monster themed bachelorette weekend. When the bride introduces a twisted game called Becoming a Rose, old wounds resurface and the weekend takes a deadly turn.
At its heart, this is a love letter to female friendship wrapped in a blood soaked horror comedy. Think Ready or Not meets Bridesmaids with a splash of camp, a handful of roses, and just enough murder to keep things interesting.
Most importantly, it's a story I know we can make. We have the location, the community, the passion, and a team of incredibly talented actors who are excited to bring this weird little nightmare to life.
WENDY
The bride. Beautiful, bubbly, the girl who lights up any room she walks in.
LUCY
Effortlessly gorgeous, unapologetically flirtatious, and always ready for the latest gossip. She's the girl who knows all the dirty secrets.
GUS
Warm, hilarious, and completely comfortable being the weirdest person in the room. Gus is the friend who can turn absolutely anything into a joke but sometimes takes a little too far.
PATTY
Dry, fearless, and perpetually unimpressed. Patty says exactly what everyone else is thinking—and occasionally what they really shouldn't.
EVELYN
Beautiful, intimidating, and accustomed to getting her way. Wendy's future mother-in-law has arrived, and she certainly knows how to make an entrance.
SOPHIA
Very pregnant, very tired, and somehow still making the trip to the mountains. Wendy's future sister-in-law has a lot on her plate... literally.
I wanted to make Number One Bride because I love comedy that lives in the little things: the look someone gives across a room, a ridiculous visual that doesn’t need a punchline, or a moment that is somehow funnier the longer you sit with it. Number One Bride has been such a collaborative process, and getting to build these characters and moments with the cast and creative team has pushed me to think bigger and take my directing somewhere new (I'm talkin' to you A24). I’m interested in the space where something can be genuinely funny and slightly unsettling at the same time. I’m excited to make something that feels a little strange, a lot of silly, and hopefully very fun to watch. Lauren
We're shooting Number One Bride in Fall 2026 (yes that soon!), when the leaves are changing, the lake is freezing, and five women (and one fab gay!) are about to make some terrible decisions in a cabin in the woods.
Every dollar raised will go directly toward bringing Number One Bride to life. That means:
- Location: Our beautiful (and increasingly suspicious) Lake Arrowhead cabin, where the entire bachelorette weekend will unravel.
- Equipment: Cameras, lighting, sound, and all the other expensive things required to make a group of women (and again- one fab gay!) losing their minds look cinematic.
- Production Design: The cabin needs to look like a real bachelorette weekend happened there, just with considerably more blood, roses, and questionable décor.
- Crew: The talented humans behind the camera who make sure the actors are lit, the sound is recorded, and nobody accidentally wanders into the woods.
- Actors: The people brave enough to say these lines, wear these costumes, and spend a weekend pretending they are having the worst girls’ trip of their lives.
- Food & Craft Services: Because hungry filmmakers are dangerous filmmakers. We plan to keep everyone fed, caffeinated, and emotionally stableish.
Basically, you give us the money, and we promise to spend it on making women behave terribly in a beautiful cabin.

Sam Valentine is a working actress known for her work in Bosch: Legacy,The Orville, and the feature film Followed, which earned her a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the Burbank Film Festival. Sam is also a longtime advocate for the realities of life in the entertainment industry. Sam is thrilled to be part of the Number One Bride family, bringing her humor, heart, and a little bit of chaos to the weekend.
Katie Hall is a Los Angeles based actor and comedian known for her sharp comedic timing, grounded performances, and irreverent sense of humor. Most recently, she appeared in a recurring role on Miracle Workers (HBOMax).Her style has been described as "if Jim Gaffigan and Melissa Peterman had a sarcastic, tender-hearted cousin," blending observational wit with big-character charm. Whether she's lighting up a multi-cam or landing subtle beats in a single cam comedy, Katie brings a natural warmth and punch to every role.
Lauren Reeder is a successful commercial actress who, as of August 2026, has booked five national commercials this year. When she’s not on set, she spends her time casting and raising her two gorgeous children. As a director, Lauren is drawn to nuanced comedy and finding the “moments in between.” She’s thrilled to be part of the Number One Bride family—not only as the very pregnant sister-in-law, but also as the vision behind the camera.
Ryan Everett is an LA-based actor originally from Atlanta, Georgia. Most recently, he appeared opposite Anya Taylor-Joy in Apple TV+’s LUCKY. When he’s not on set, Ryan can usually be found with a coffee in hand—preferably with enough French Vanilla creamer to qualify as a food group. He’s thrilled to be part of the ber One Bride family and brings his humor, charm, and undeniable Valley energy to the group.
Laticia Rolle is a Los Angeles based actress and producer whose film and television credits include Shaft, opposite Samuel L. Jackson, Hulu’s Reasonable Doubt, Tyler Perry’s Sistas, ABC’s Single Parents, and Paper Empire, where she appears as Agent Gina Lopez. Her work spans film, television, and national commercial campaigns, bringing a grounded, magnetic presence and natural versatility to both comedy and drama. A former collegiate athlete turned model and actress, Laticia brings the same discipline, confidence, and authenticity that shaped her athletic career to every role she takes on.
CINEMATOGRAPHER
Jaime Ballesteros is no stranger to the horror and horror/comedy genre having worked on the feature Crush the Skull before directing photography on the shorts Therapy Through Lucid Dreaming and Jeff, and the feature film Danni and the Vampire. Altogether he has 15+ years of experience in documentary, commercial and music video production with the back aches to prove it.
