The Story
A Visual Poem About Healing, Finding Your Voice, & Empowerment
This is not fiction. Open Letter is a poem I wrote many years ago to deal with my trauma. I am bringing this poem to life in a new way through the Open Letter Project. Working with Studio 860 choreographer Jolet Creary and dancer Dashawn Davis, we will be creating something truly powerful. A poem set to dance and music that will tell a story of pain, strength, and healing. Through our creative process, movement and story will become one.
This project is being made to tell my story, and inspire others to use art as a form of healing. Artistic expression gives us the freedom to let our emotions out without restraint. This is healthy and essential for true healing.
The funds will be used to pay our choreographer, dancer, sound recordist / mixer, and focus puller.
When completed this project will be made available to organizations like Jane Doe No More and put into festivals to help spread our powerful and inspirational message to those who truly need it.

About This Team
Alessandro Andriulli - Cinematographer / Project Director
I've been in love with film and telling stories as long as I can remember. I've worked on movies, written and published short stories, acted, and even performed my poetry for audiences around Connecticut. Now it's time to make something more personal, more vulnerable. Through Open Letter I will show the world that you can take your pain and make something powerful, something that inspires! We all need a way to express ourselves fully. Art can be that conduit.

Jolet Creary - Creative Co-Director / Dance Choreographer
Jolet Creary is a professional dance choreographer. She runs the Studio 860 dance studio along with her husband Pete in Bloomfield Connecticut. Collectively they have worked with the Alvin Ailey dance school, local Connecticut schools, and competed throughout the country. Jolet and her husband are both passionate teachers dedicated to the excellence and growth of their students.
