Mission Statement

Orion, Silent Partner Films’ second short following The Donovan Teagans Show, builds on our growth using professional standards, high-quality equipment, and dedicated crew. An ambitious and nostalgic project, we hope Orion to be the best it can be and showcases our talent to industry professionals

The Story

April 11th, 1987. It’s closing time at the arcade. Ex-lovers Rob Calloway and Elizabeth Hamilton are in their early twenties working the night shift at Constellations Arcadia. The eccentric owner of the arcade, Dan Greenwood, introduces them to the arcade’s newest system, ORION. Everything seems normal until the night shift presents them with a variety of issues, the biggest of all being when Orion traps them in the arcade.

How does this Orion system operate? Rob and Lizzy are put to the test, having to figure out how to play Orion’s game so they can be let out before Dan arrives in the morning. Meanwhile, Rob and Lizzy need to confront their past relationship and the impact this night will have on them. A classic 80s adventure set in an arcade. Shall they play Orion’s game?

Orion represents a step forward in our careers, being Silent Partner Films second short film. This story represents a warning about the usage of AI, overcoming the feeling of being stuck, and human connection, all while having the backdrop of an 80’s arcade. This story feels relevant to tell today, especially with AI’s evolving technological landscape. Orion breathes a unique atmosphere while being reminiscent of 80’s coming of age films.

Being a filmmaker in this day and age is extremely difficult. Considering the fact that many of us have just graduated from university, we no longer have the resources provided for us and have to provide equipment for ourselves. Donating to Orion helps a multitude of emerging filmmakers all putting their time, effort and money into creating something new and original. With your help we can provide funding for location, cast, crew, lighting and meals for the many people making this possible. Any donations are appreciated and the Orion Team is incredibly grateful for your support. Here is a look at our budget, so you can see exactly what impact your donations will make to our production:
