The Story

Concept
Through the alien duo known as MiZo, real life co-creators Miriam Gabriel, Zora Schiltz Rouse and Sophia de Baun satirize their lived experiences as women and artists living in the Greater New York City Area. MiZo are descendants of humans who were abducted hundreds of years ago. They have come to understand human society through various media such as YouTube and Buzzfeed. The lens of the alien allows for play with miscommunication, overt sexuality, over-the-top energy and uninhibited responses to a world that is perhaps equally as grotesque as the characters themselves!
Starting with their not-so-smooth landing on Coney Island, MiZo's journey is filled with bumps and bruises as the sisters deal with lack of funds, stalkers, and constantly getting fired! Sound familiar?
Style
Out There is not just any old show about making it in New York. Not only do MiZo stick out like sore thumbs because of their lack of social awareness and bizarre, internet-fueled behavior, but also because of how they move their bodies!
The sisters' style is a mash-up of physical comedy informed by modern dance, traditional slapstick, Commedia dell'Arte and Comédie-Française. The world is a whole new oyster to them, so they are not afraid to roll around in the (graveyard) dirt, pick cheetos off the floor, or even smell every part of the subway!

Structure
The series is comprised of six 10-15 minute episodes, each throwing MiZo in a new conundrum. We have four out of six episodes so far, but still have a lot left to do (and to pay for!)
We need your help in order to shoot the last episodes (which are going to be epic!) as well as several pickup scenes to solidify our first four episodes, and finally, for post-production. This includes editing, color correction, sound mixing, and motion graphics!
