This documentary will delve into the life of ex-professional wrestler Perry Saturn. His journey has taken him from wrestling on television in front of millions to being left wrestling a different opponent in the form of homeless, addiction and chronic brain injuries.

Mission Statement

We are recent graduates working on our first feature film. Led by a female Executive Producer, we are a diverse crew comprised of various religions, genders, and races. Furthermore, the film will explore the social themes of fame, addiction, homelessness, and living with chronic brain injuries.

The Rings of Saturn

Perry Satullo is an American professional wrestler known by his ring name, Perry Saturn. Saturn has wrestled for promotions including Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), World Championship Wrestling (WCW), the World Wrestling Federation (Then WWF now WWE) and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). He is a former ECW World Tag Team Champion, WCW World Tag Team Champion, WCW World Television Champion, WWF European Champion and WWF Hardcore Champion.

 

 

Perry Saturn Wrestled during the historic "Monday Night Wars" and was viewed on weekly television by millions of fans. Perry Saturn made his first appearance on the silver screen in the film Ready To Rumble.


 

 

In April of 2004, Perry Saturn was involved in an altercation with two men when he came to the aid of a woman that they were in the process of raping. He fought the men and was shot with a .25 caliber handgun in the back of the neck as a result of the scuffle. After being shot, Saturn became addicted to methamphetamine and was homeless for two and a half years. He disappeared from public view and was not seen for several years, with his family and friends unaware of his whereabouts. In 2010 Saturn re-emerged, having resolved his addiction but now dealing with chronic brain injuries that limits his abilities.

 

 

The Rings of Saturn will take an in-depth and look at Perry Saturns life in the ring and out and pulls no punches. This documentary will feature Interviews with Perry Saturn himself along with other wrestling superstars, but it won't stop there, this ambitious project looks to put the audience right in the action and drama with a combination of actor reenactments and animated sequences. About This Team

The Rings of Saturn team strives to bring the fans the best documentary possible. The team includes:

 

Director/Producer Ian Withey: A wrestling fan and storyteller since his childhood, Ian looks to bring that passion to the screen in his first feature film.

 

Camera Operator Sean Skinner: Sean has been filming, editing, producing and directing news stories, documentaries and short films for more than 20 years. Originally working in TV News, his love for film called him to start Red 23 Films. He began creating original content. 

 

Makeup Artist Casey Pearson: Casey is a talented makeup artist located in the Twin Cities

 

Graphic Designer Chris Huffman: Chris works with pro wrestlers and promotions to help enhance their brand through compelling marketing and creative merchandising. His work has appeared on WWE's WrestleMania 33, SummerSlam (2016), Monday Night RAW, Smackdown, NXT, 205 Live and Main Event.
