Who We Are
The Dover Independent Players are partnering with Pathos Pictures to tell this story all while showcasing the beautiful scenic locations in Strong, Maine. DIP has always relied on collaboration and inginuity when it comes to creating work, and Pathos Pictures has such a keene eye that easily brings documentary realism to any of their projects - which makes them the perfect team for this film.
Why Us?
In the past, a film lead by a female filmmaker was hard to find. Luckily, that is beginning to change. Devon hopes that her fearlessness in leading a cast and crew of predominantly men in this male dominated industry helps other women feel the courage to do the same. As a collective of filmmakers, storytellers, and artists, we feel an intense passion when it comes to helping people tell their stories. We believe a movie can be made anywhere, even in the middle-of-nowhere Maine. We want to help inspire others to make their own work and to go forth with courage.

How
With the help of many local families around the Strong area, the cast and crew will head three hours north and shoot the film over the course of three days. We are shooting in people's houses, basements, barns, on their entire farm - we are using their horses, sheep, and other livestock. The costumes are an assortment from Goodwills, Salvation Armys, and Antique Stores all throughout Maine and New Hampshire. We've even rented an antique quilt from R.S. Butler's in Northwood, NH because, not only was it too perfect to pass up, but the woman who made it, in about 1955, had written her name on it upon completion: Hattie. Every detail has been carefully considered.
Please take a moment to watch our pitch video! Our two creators, along with our director Wes Cannon and our DP Anthony Farenwald, took a day trip up to location to shoot some test footage and we could not be more proud or excited to start shooting the actual film. Following the test reel is the pitch video from co-creators Devon Padley and Benjamin Breault.
