The Story

PULSE is an original thriller/drama TV pilot following Nico, an aspiring party booker who feels constrained in his older brother Jay's shadow. His eclectic friend group of bookers and DJs views Nico as the little brother who will never be as successful as the rest of them. Nico wants nothing more than to prove them wrong.
Jay, being well established in the event-booking scene, offers Nico an important opportunity that would kickstart his career, but his ego and competitive nature drive him to take it back. This sends Nico into a search for his own greatness, seeking opportunities to prove his skills and money to back them up.
He realizes, however, that these things are hard to come by. Nico is faced with decisions that put his relationships with his family and inner circle on the line. In a world where success is prioritized over anything else, how important do relationships become?
PULSE highlights the all-consuming ambition aspiring artists often experience while making a name for themselves. This TV pilot questions what they are okay with losing for a chance to be seen, offering a unique take on family betrayal and challenging loyalty among the people closest to them.

We are so grateful to have the opportunity to premiere our TV pilot at the ATX Television Festival in May, 2026.
Our team is working among five very talented Student Television Pilot teams with the University of Texas Incubator Program, which has partnered with ATX TV for the last few years. Previously, students in the program have screened their work at the Paramount Theatre in downtown Austin, and we are honored to participate in the festival this upcoming Spring. Since PULSE was conceptualized over the summer of 2025, our writing team (Karen Dominguez, Lucy Phenix, Savannah Hilliard, Ben Orrell, Josie Hurt) has worked tirelessly to fine tune and polish the story. PULSE is ambitious. We know that. Therefore, we've chosen to collaborate with an extremely talented cast and crew who can help us create this beautiful project.

The Story
