Story
Mission Statement
The Red Snow team is a strong supporter of representation on and off screen. Our story revolves around a strong heroine of color and we will have a diverse cast and crew.About The Project
Olivia loves vampires.
This Christmas, she's getting one of her very own.Aspiring vampire-romance novelist Olivia Romo (Dennice Cisneros) lives alone in her cabin in a snowy mountain town. She dreams of being the next Anne Rice or Charlaine Harris, but the rejection letters are piling up and it's beginning to look a lot like a dreary holiday season. Until one night, an injured bat slams against her window. Sympathetic to creatures of the night, Olivia takes the wounded critter inside her garage to nurse it back to health. The next day, however, the pint-size bat transforms into a full-size vampire.
A normal person would be scared to find a vampire in her home.
Olivia is not a normal person.Ever the thoughtful host, Olivia stocks up on pig's blood from the local butcher shop to feed her new house guest and soon has the weakened vampire up on his feet and talking. His name is Luke (Nico Bellamy). He's not a fan of crosses, garlic, or sunlight, but he seems to take a strange liking to Olivia. The unlikely companions get to know each other and start to form a tenuous friendship, but Olivia grows suspicious of Luke's intentions as his past begins to catch up with him.
There's more than one vampire in town...
And they aren't settling for pig's blood.First, there's the odd bounty hunter who visits Olivia and tells her he's looking for the people responsible for several murders in the area. Then, there's the eerie visits at night by pale figures gliding through the snow outside. And finally, the other vampires come out of the shadows and into Olivia's cabin. They want Luke back, but first they want to help themselves to his tasty new friend....
Vampires + Christmas = YES PLEASE
The makers of Red Snow are huge horror buffs looking to make something fresh and original for the genre. Christmas-themed horror is nothing new (Black Christmas, Gremlins, and Santa's Slay to name a few) and obviously there have been countless vampire films, but there has never been a great holiday/vampire mash-up. Our goal is to make a high-quality and memorable horror film packed with thrills, laughs, and heart that pays tribute to the classics while also "staking" out bold new territory of its own. It is our ambition to make Red Snow a seasonal staple for fellow scary movie enthusiasts to revisit every December – or even outside the holiday season!
An Experienced Team
Every major member of the Red Snow crew knows first-hand what it takes to make a feature film from development to distribution. Writer-director Sean Nichols Lynch's first feature, the coming-of-age drama Prep School, landed worldwide distribution from Gravitas Ventures following an award-winning festival run. Cinematographer Gavin Murray has lensed multiple feature films, most recently the beautifully shot Bring Me An Avocado from director Maria Mealla. Not only has producer Alrik Bursell worked on numerous feature films, but he's directing his own feature film The Alternate in 2020.
Location, Location, Location
We are filming Red Snow in beautiful South Lake Tahoe during February and March of 2020, when the snow conditions will be just right for the wintry look of our film. We have the central cabin location for the film secured and are working with local talent and businesses to aid us in our mission. To round out the world of the film, we are also doing a weekend of pickup shots in Los Angeles during the spring of 2020, including the film's biting epilogue.
Join Us!
Getting funding for even a modestly budgeted production like Red Snow is a huge task. It truly takes a village to make an independent film, whether it's a drama about important social issues or a bloody Christmas horror-comedy about vampires traipsing around Lake Tahoe. While we already have some of the budget in place, we're relying on people like YOU to join our team and push us over the finish line!

Current Team
About This Team
Sean Nichols Lynch (Director/Writer)
Sean is an award-winning filmmaker based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Most recently, he collaborated with his wife Lyndsey on their short horror film Audiobook of the Dead, which premiered at the 2019 Chattanooga Film Festival and also screened at Salem Horror Fest and the Sacramento Horror Film Festival. His feature-length directorial debut Prep School won Best Dramatic Feature at the Studio City International Film Festival and is now available on VOD services worldwide from distributor Gravitas Ventures. He will be directing his new feature Red Snow in February and March of 2020. Sean's favorite vampire movie is The Lost Boys.
Dennice Cisneros (Lead Actress - "Olivia")
Dennice Cisneros is a first generation Mexican American. Although born and raised in the Bay Area, she is not tech savvy. Driven from an early age, Dennice fell in love with the stage by doing plays and dance recitals. She recalls doing mock commercials in third grade for a school assignment and everyone being shocked that she had so much personality, because she never talked and was extremely shy. Dennice attended a performing arts high school, and graduated with a B.F.A in Theatre from San Francisco State University. After graduating, she moved to Los Angeles and focused doing improvisation at The Groundlings. She can be seen doing sketch videos that she has written with her co-partner, coming out soon. You may also recognize her in various national commercials like McDonalds, Toyota, DiGiornos, among others. Dennice's favorite vampire movie is What We Do in the Shadows.
Nico Bellamy (Lead Actor - "Luke")
Although he had the opportunity to study law or medicine at the best schools in the world, Nico Bellamy decided not to apply himself throughout his entire academic life, and instead moved to Los Angeles in order to pursue a more stable career as an actor and writer. He is proud to have made a second home for himself on the stages at Upright Citizen’s Brigade and theaters along the west coast, and excited to have a role in Red Snow that he can really dig his teeth into. Nico's favorite vampire movie is What We Do in the Shadows.
Gavin V. Murray (Cinematographer)
Gavin was born in San Francisco, CA to artist parents. He didn't have a chance. Falling in love with film and lighting in high school, Gavin went on to work on commercials, features, shorts and music videos, learning from his mentors and contemporaries, adding to his ever growing toolbox of solutions and style that he implements on each set. So far his work has taken him across the world, shooting in Tokyo, London, Shanghai, and Idaho. He loves horror and comedy, probably stemming from an early sleepover choice of Evil Dead II. His favorite food is the Super Burrito, the real San Francisco treat. Gavin's favorite vampire movie is The Lost Boys.
Alrik Bursell (Producer)
Alrik is a filmmaker, producer, cinematographer, editor and director. He's worked in film and video production for over 10 years and has tackled everything from feature films to broadcast commercials. Alrik is currently working on his feature-length directorial debut, The Alternate, which he will be shooting in the fall of 2019 before diving into Red Snow in the winter of 2020. Alrik's favorite vampire movie is Fright Night.
Andrea Jalaty (Graphic Designer)
Andrea Jalaty is a graphic designer, screen printer and illustrator from Northern California. She's been forced into the spooky life by her wife, Lauren. When not creating creepy posters, she's being active and adventurous with Lauren, their dogs (Carnita and Cricket) and cat on a leash (Frankie). Andrea's favorite vampire movie will probably be Red Snow.
