This film was born from the pain of losing my son and the 100-mile run I took to honor him. We believe this story can bring light to those navigating their own grief. With your help, we can finish this film and share a message of hope, healing, and human resilience.

Mission Statement

Through my 100-mile run honoring my son lost to an overdose, whom also battled mental illness much of his life, this film seeks to inspire healing, courage, and hope for those facing similar grief—showing that even in the darkest loss, strength and connection can be found.

The Story

PROJECT SYNOPSIS

On the anniversary of my son’s death — which also happened to be my birthday — I ran 100 miles. I wasn’t doing it for attention or records. I was doing it because grief needed motion. I needed to move through the pain, to face it mile by mile. And something inside me said: document this.

This film is a documentary about that run — but it’s also about much more. It’s about loss, resilience, and the power of endurance as a form of healing. Through the lens of a single, brutal, beautiful day, we explore what it means to grieve, to honor, and to keep going.

WHY WE’RE MAKING THIS FILM

After finishing the run and watching the early footage, my filmmaker and I realized this wasn’t just a personal story. It’s a universal one. This film speaks to anyone who’s experienced deep loss — especially within a family — and who is looking for meaning in the aftermath.

We believe this story can help others feel less alone. It’s raw, emotional, and real — and we want to offer it to the world as a form of connection and hope. We’re making this film to inspire, to heal, and to open conversations that are too often left in silence.

WHERE THE MONEY GOES & WHAT’S NEXT

We’ve already captured the run and the core story. Now we’re raising funds to complete the post-production: professional editing, color grading, original music, sound design, and voiceover. These elements are essential to turning this raw footage into a powerful, polished film.

We also plan to use part of the budget for festival submissions, distribution strategy, and outreach — to make sure the film reaches the people who need it most.

With your support, we aim to finish the film by early 2026 and begin sharing it through festivals, screenings, and online platforms shortly after.

This isn’t just a documentary. It’s a tribute. A letter to my son. And hopefully, a lifeline for others walking through their own loss.

If this project speaks to you — whether you’ve run your own hard miles, lost someone you love, or believe in the power of storytelling — we’d be honored to have you on this journey with us.

Let’s finish this together.
