The Story
Heart broken and stuck in the past, introverted Charles must find a slice of peach cobbler better than his first.
Salad Day (And How I Learned to Live in the Present) is a film about learning to open up after a breakup and find a new love. We’ve all been in a place where we can’t help but compare new relationships to past ones, but in this case, Charles can't get over his first slice of cobbler.

With our cast and crew all being hopeless romantics, we want to bring the pain of the past to the screen. Not only to tell an interesting story but to also reassure those out there that true love really can find you (only if you're looking for it).
Our film is told through 35mm photography. Film is expensive... but not as expensive as digital rentals for videography. Using our own equipment, we have shot a majority of the film. Here's where you come in. Another large expense is film festivals. We hope to enter Salad Day into the 2024 and 2025 season film festivals. These include South by Southwest, Toronto International, Sundance, the Atlanta Film Festival and many more. With submission fees costing upward of $50 each and rising with each deadline, we hope to raise the funds for Salad Day to be seen all around the world.

About This Team
Our team met in Savannah, Georgia, primarily working on student films at the Savannah College of Art and Design. We have experimented with multiple different filmmaking techniques and jobs. Now out of school and working in Atlanta, Georgia, we work through Smith Film House, producing, directing, and editing short films and music videos. Experimenting has helped us find our own distinct voice in filmmaking which we would like to bring to a wider audience.
