How "SAM" Came to Be in Hollywood
Throughout my career, I've been labeled as "difficult" for not abiding by the rules of being an unknown actor in Hollywood which are: pipe down, fall in line, and do as your told. As someone also passionate about worker's and artist's rights, it became increasingly difficult for me to work on productions that didn't prioritize company members' safety, individuality, and artistic expression.
While creating my ADHD short film "Trying" (also crowdfunded here on Seed&Spark in 2021 and going viral on YouTube in 2024), I realized that I had more to offer the world than solely playing characters, and became committed to creating important, funny, relatable projects that inspire others through storytelling. I originally created "SAM" as a mirror for Hollywood and an avenue for self-expression, and since it's inception, it's grown to be so much more than that.
"We are all SAM"
"As an actor myself, this show provided me with great catharsis and a feeling that I’m not alone in this journey and that this journey is a worthy pursuit. I loved it and after seeing it, I felt that it was a necessary and healthy way to spend an hour. I’m excited for Sam’s future and mine as well haha that’s how I felt after seeing it. Thank you Sam."
- Corduroy C.
"As someone who is not an actress, I wasn’t sure what to expect going into SAM, but WOW! I totally felt like I could relate to the show and the journey Sam took us on. I loved it from start to finish!"
- Hannah G.
"I don’t know Sam personally, but I’m glad this show was made. It was inspiring to see someone else essentially say, 'this business sucks I’m going to do my own thing for the love of it' and do it! As a fellow person in the film industry who’s been considering leaving for a while (because it also makes me feel awful) this show hit home for me. So, thanks for the motivation, Sam—maybe I can do my own thing and find my way back to loving my art, too. :)"

Why we need "SAM" now more than ever
Amidst the writer's and actor's strikes, AI threats to artists, and living in a time where nothing seems to be going right in the world, it can be easy to forget that it's even possible to harness joy, true connection, or hope in our lives.
In its simplest form, "SAM" performing live in theaters across the country will employ laughter, raw humanity, and the opportunity to be together. As more than just an escape from the day-to-day, "SAM" has the chance to continue making lasting change in our society by inspiring audience members and you, the SAM Fam, to harness your passions and do the same.
