Mission Statement

A desperate streamer finally gets the fame he's always wanted, at the worst possible time. SCREAM GUY explores how someone else’s suffering can become other people's entertainment. We want to confront a culture where views, money, and attention can make people do heinous things.

The Story

WELCOME TO THE CHAT.

THE STORY

What happens when the worst night of your life becomes a spectacle?

SCREAM GUY follows Jacob, a struggling livestreamer whose biggest claim to fame is also what he hates being known for: a viral video of him screaming.

A year later, the internet still knows him as the Scream Guy.

The few people who tune into his streams barely pay attention to him anymore. They only want to hear him recreate his viral scream.

Desperate to prove he's more than a meme and make a real name for himself as a streamer, Jacob decides to livestream for 24 hours straight. But when he begins to suspect something might be inside his house, something unexpected happens:

People start watching.

His viewers climb. Donations pour in. The chat wants him to investigate.

And the worst night of Jacob's life starts becoming the biggest night of his career.

Deadstream (2022)

WHY THIS STORY MATTERS

We spend more of our lives online than ever before, especially with short-form content like TikTok, platforms where the craziness and more horrific things you have ever seen can be passed and forgotten with one swipe, and you can be inundated with another crazy or horrendous thing. And that has changed how we experience other people's lives, too.

Someone's most embarrassing moment can become a meme. A stranger's breakdown can become a clip. Something frightening can happen live in front of thousands of people, and the audience is so distracted by the stimulation of future videos that nobody stops to think about the actual person affected on the screen.

One of the real events that pushed us toward SCREAM GUY was the death of French livestreamer Jean Pormanove, whose real name was Raphaël Graven. In August 2025, Graven died during a livestream that had been running for nearly 300 hours. What disturbed us was how the humiliation and abuse surrounding the stream had itself become entertainment, with viewers watching, donating, and in some cases encouraging what was happening.

It left us thinking about a question that became central to SCREAM GUY:

At what point does watching someone else's suffering become entertainment?

That's the uncomfortable space this film lives in.

SCREAM GUY isn't only interested in what someone will do for attention. It's interested in what an audience will encourage them to do once they have it.

Jacob's situation becomes more dangerous, but his stream becomes more successful. More people watch. More people donate. More people tell him to keep going.

And eventually, the line between a simple viewer and puppeteer starts to disappear.

That's where the horror of SCREAM GUY really comes from.

We're making a horror movie where the audience isn't safely outside of the story.

They're part of it.

Spree (2020)

THE EXPERIENCE

We don't want SCREAM GUY to feel like a traditional horror movie with a livestream graphic overlaid.

We want you to feel like you opened Jacob's stream.

The film unfolds through webcams & handheld cameras, chat messages, donations, viewer counts, and the other little details that make livestreaming feel immediate and unpredictable.

We're even developing our own fictional streaming platform, StreamHive, specifically for the film.

Every username, notification, donation, interface, and interaction becomes another part of the storytelling.

As Jacob's situation gets worse, the stream becomes more entertaining for everyone watching.

His viewer count rises.

The chat moves faster.

The donations get bigger.

And suddenly the audience has to confront something:

Are we worried about Jacob? Or are we just here for the show?

OUR HISTORY

We've been making movies together since our freshman year of high school.

What started as a group of friends making small projects with whatever we had available has grown into a team of young filmmakers taking on increasingly ambitious productions.

We've learned by doing it.

We've made mistakes. We've figured things out on set. We've taken on different jobs. We've watched each other's skills improve from one project to the next.

And last time, you helped us do it.

Our previous film, MAMA SUNSHINE, was crowdfunded right here on Seed&Spark. We set a $1,000 goal and our supporters helped us surpass that goal and hit almost 155% of our goal.

That support let us make the film, and it also gave us the chance to become better filmmakers.

We learned what worked.

We learned even more from what didn't.

SCREAM GUY is our next step.

It's more technically ambitious, more visually demanding, and unlike anything we've attempted before.

But we're bringing everything we've learned with us.

THE PLAN

We're not waiting for this campaign to decide whether we're making SCREAM GUY.

We're already making it.

The screenplay is written. Our cast and crew are coming together. We've begun designing StreamHive and the film's livestream graphics. We're planning our effects, production design, camera approach, and everything necessary to make the movie's online world believable.

We're also fortunate to already own or have access to much of the filmmaking equipment we need.

That allows us to keep this production lean and put crowdfunding support toward the things that will actually improve the finished film.

After production, we'll move into editing, sound, color, and the needed extensive screen graphics.

Then we want to get SCREAM GUY where it belongs:

In front of an audience.

We plan to take the finished film through the festival circuit while continuing to build its online presence through the fictional world surrounding the movie.

WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES

Independent filmmaking makes relatively small contributions surprisingly powerful.

We're not raising money to buy ourselves a new camera.

We're raising it for the things our production actually needs.

$300 - Feed the Hive

Meals, snacks, drinks, and crafty for our cast and crew.

$100 - SFX / Hair & Makeup

Blood, wounds, bruising, and the practical effects the film needs.

$150 - Production Design

Props, set dressing, and the details that make Jacob's stream setup.

$75 - Hard Drives & Media

Storage and backups to protect everything we shoot.

$125 - Post-Production

Editing, sound design, StreamHive graphics, color, and finishing.

$250 - Festival Run

Our festival submission fees.

TOTAL: $1,000

A $10 pledge might not sound like much in the context of filmmaking.

For a production our size, it can literally help feed someone on set.

Every contribution has somewhere to go.

WHY CROWDFUND AGAIN?

Because we've already seen what it can do.

Our Mama Sunshine campaign wasn't just $$$ appearing in a production budget. It was individual people deciding that something we wanted to make was worth helping us make.

That's different.

And this time, we want supporters to be even more involved.

We'll be sharing the process as SCREAM GUY develops: pre-production, production, behind-the-scenes, post-production, and eventually the finished film.

HELP US GO LIVE

If you want to help us make SCREAM GUY, there are three things you can do:

PLEDGE. FOLLOW. SHARE.

Every pledge gets us closer to production.

Every follow helps grow the community around the film.

And every share puts SCREAM GUY in front of somebody who might become part of that community too.

If you can't contribute financially, sharing our campaign on your social media genuinely helps more than you might think.

Below, you’ll see a few snapshots from some of the past projects that we’ve crafted and grown from.

If this story connects with you or you have seen this type of issue around you or on social media, we would truly appreciate your support :)

Bluedive

Original Music

Bluedive is a trio-piece band that creates music for the SoCal emo scene. From Southern California, the band blends surf rock, emo pop punk, and alternative rock into a unique sound. Influenced by the 2000s emo scene, 90s grunge bands, and modern-day post-hardcore, Aidan Dixon, Sebastian Landa, and James Hillary blend their favorite styles to bring something new to life. The songs' themes are generally self-reflective, exploring relationships with people, yourself, and everything else in this world. Dive into a blue world with Bluedive’s music.

──────────────────────────────────

Meet the Band

Aidan Dixon

Lead Singer/Guitarist

My name is Aidan Dixon, and I’m the lead singer and guitarist of Bluedive. My art is shaped by my life experiences and thorough enjoyment of rock music in its totality. I find inspiration in all corners of the genre, from the unconventional progressions in Radiohead albums to the catchy riffs in Blink-182 tracks, and especially in the screams in a Title Fight song. Bluedive is some of the most meaningful work I’ve had the pleasure of contributing to in my life thus far, among psychiatric research and my educational pursuit of becoming a physician. No matter where life takes me, I plan on writing and playing music for the rest of it.

───────────────────

Sebastian Landa

Guitarist

My name is Sebastian Landa. I am a member of the band “Bluedive,” and I play bass guitar. I identify myself largely with music and the music I create. Some of my proudest work is with Bluedive and the collaborations I've done along the way. I believe in authenticity, spreading positivity, and being extraordinary.

───────────────────

James Hillary

Drummer

My name is James Hillary, and I am the drummer for Bluedive. I’m a relatively new addition to the band, and I played my first show with them in March of this year. Despite being newer, I take great pride in our work and the new music we’ve created since then, and I’m excited about what the future holds for the group. I’ve been a drummer nearly my entire life, and it’s led me to gig with many other bands in the scene as well. Music is my God-given talent, and with it I do my best to be a light to those around me and give others the same feeling of joy and passion I have for the art.
