Mission Statement
The Story
Script Tease is a sketch-comedy web-series, each episode maxing at fifteen minutes, the season aiming to debut with 7 episodes. The web-series will be posted publicly on Youtube and Tiktok, with shorts made from the individual sketches posted on Youtube Shorts, Tiktok, Instagram, and Facebook. The long-form episodes will be within a framework that hopes to transport you back to your mom's couch as you sifted channels. The production format, and project itself, is constructed to allow for an extremely collaborative and emmerging-artist-friendly environment. Besides the obvious goal of creating an entertaining, humorous, and well-made series, another staple goal is to create a learning environment for all involved and an atmosphere for new creatives and comedians to platform their work.
Showrunner's Statement from Elliana Polyak
Sitting in-front of a big box TV at my grandma's, I longed to work on the shows on that concave screen that made me feel, metaphorically and quite literally, staticky. That static sits like a restless leg and, in a day where software companies, retailers, apps, AI, and so much more are driving us further and further away from art made for enjoyment with enjoyment, that restless leg has kicked up Script Tease out of some unearthed dirt.
Script Tease comes initially from a deep interest in the history of comedy and its evolution. At its root, it is a love letter to comedy, and performance as a whole. A display of the love of life and all of its positive and negative qualities, and portraying life through stories aimed at emotionally engaging with others, specifically for the purpose of relief. It has since developed to be a part of a further mission to bring good quality art to the public in a time where art and artists value has plummeted thanks to the development of programs, softwares, policies, institutions, and individuals that directly target, or destructively exclude, working artists. We, as a cast and crew, hope to make content that displays the value of current artists through the value of entertaining, hopefully, the masses. At the least, we simply want to make somebody laugh in a moment where it is needed. All in all, comedy has always had purpose even when it is a man jerking off in stop motion or the founding fathers fighting over the size of a signature. The purpose ultimately is the people in a strange way. We want to make content that is not only reflective of us, our lives, and our humor but also of our peers, family, friends, strangers, enemies, everyone. Everyone deserves a laugh.
Supervising Writer's Statement from David Christ
Growing up in the early 2000s meant spending my mornings in front of the TV watching borderline inappropriate and absurdist children's cartoons, or exploring forbidden corners of the internet, particularly the unrestricted wild west of YouTube. While spending my formative years watching the likes of early Smosh and SpongeBob probably did a number on my frontal lobe, I look back on this nostalgic age of media with an general fondness for the chaotic evolution from the analog to digital era.
Much of my excitement for Script Tease stems from my want to see more content embracing my generation's nostalgic media format, and to push to see more independent filmmakers hone their craft. This project gives us the opportunity to work with more creator's to experiment with short-form, high-production sketches, offering extremely valuable experience and tools to our peers to break into an industry with notoriously high barriers. My goal with this project is to produce the highest quality content we can with our razor thin budget, but more importantly, to make something that truly brings excitement to both our crew and our viewers. I can't wait to see where Script Tease takes us, and I hope our stupidly absurd sketches can bring a smile to the internet.

Budget Breakdown
By donating to our campaign, you help allow our set to run smoothly, feed our crew, dress our cast, and help us make some people laugh! More specifically, we are looking to raise $2,700 which will allow us to promise that the above goals are fulfilled, allowing for an ideal and smooth production. Below is a more complete look at what we are hoping to raise for and what those numbers look like.
We luckily have access, in-house and through connected resources, to a large equipment library, allowing us to all-ready be fulfilled with all of our tech/camera/support needs. However, we are still needing to build out our set, SFX, expendables, and other costs to finalize the production and distribution of Script Tease.

If we happen to raise above $2,700, we aim to reach the following stretch goals:
$2,800 will allow us to expand our SFX capabilities, increasing our budget towards wigs, makeup, prosthetics, and costumes to make our truly absurd ideas make it to the screen.
If we raise $2,900, we will use this towards post production, specifically for additional back-up storage, a file-sharing software subscription, and an additional editing suite seat for our editing team. This ensures we can keep filming our sketches in high resolutions, and for overall higher quality edits.
If $3,200 gets raised, we aim to amp up the scale of our showing and open it to a larger audience collected of more of cast/crew's friends and family, special donors and audience members, and emerging film industry members, making it an extra special experience for all involved where we all collectively binge the full release of Script Tease (~105 minute run time.)

About This Team
The Script Tease crew/cast is compiled largely of Bennington College students with an interest in film, performance, or comedy. Among our crew are individuals like David Christ and Elliana Polyak who were recently nominated alongside other crew members, like Zarah Carter-Bolick and Freya Newman, for Best Use of Cinematic Element in Cincinnati's Fright Film Competition. Script Tease's art director, Maeve Hamilton, recently completed production on her short-film "Parasomnia," with DP, Quinn O'Neill, one of Script Tease's Camera Operators. Other crew accomplishments include a plethora of theatrical performances, short films, published stories, art accolades, and much more. All crew/cast/writers have a varying background in experience with film and theatrical elements, creating a beautifully colorful cohort of explosive ideas. We are very excited to take on this venture and create a hell of a funny show.
