The Story
Seekers of the Lost Worlds is an action adventure film in the spirit of Indiana Jones and the National Treasure films. The movie follows the story of two unlikely adventurers, Jason and Rita, who receive a strange package with a rare artifact.
The artifact sets them on the path of adventure, excitement, danger and wonder in search of the mythical continent of Atlantis. There will also be humor, too, because every good adventure movie needs that stress releasing giggle moment.
Originally conceived as a television mini-series, Seekers will make its debut as a feature film starring Jim Horning as Jason, Shanel Sparr as Rita and Allison Farrell as Sara O’Hara.
It also features NY Times Best Selling author Debbie Viguie in the role of the Curator.
Created by Rita De La Torre, written and directed by the husband and wife team of Rita and JC De La Torre, the film takes us to far away places like Hawaii and the Bahamas but was primarily filmed in Wesley Chapel, Florida.
Some location shoots include a beach bar in St. Petersburg Florida, St. Augustine, Florida and Hillsborough River State Park.
Principal Photography was completed on June 25th, 2016.
We had a very small budget for Seekers, so it took the collective efforts of the crew and cast to make a believable, fun and exciting story.
We're currently looking for help with Post Production fund to make this film as great as it can be.
Still to be done: Editing, film score, chromakey and rotoscoping, audio engineering, visual FX.

Actors
Jim Horning
Jim Horning was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Dorothy Murray and Jerry Horning. The youngest of four children, Jim spent most of his life between both New Jersey and Florida. It is no surprise to family and friends that Jim knew he would be an actor since the age of five, especially since he could often be found creating and practicing his own scripts or acting out entire pieces while playing every character.
Interestingly enough, music caused a bit of a detour as Jim’s classically trained bass/baritone allowed for him to perform his original material at festivals and shows in the late 90s and early 2000s. Turning his attention once again toward acting, Jim began to find increased work in modeling which eventually led to his being in front of the camera.
With his unique look (due in part to a mixed heritage including Irish, Scottish, German, Italian and American Indian) Jim is often cast in very diverse and varying roles. Be sure to look for meaningful and intense work from this very unique talent.
Shanel Sparr
Shanel Sparr takes on the role of one of our two main adventurers, Rita. Sparr is a recent graduate of University of Central Florida’s Acting program with a Bachelor in Fine Arts. Her previous acting credits include Maggie in Lend Me A Tenor, Susy in Wait Until Dark, and Ana in The Baltimore Waltz. Her previous assistant directing credits include Footloose, The Foreigner, and The 39 Steps. Along with her recent casting in Seekers of the Lost World, Shanel is currently playing The Woman in an originally conceived piece for the Orlando Fringe Festival entitled Shatter. She is also working on an interactive theatrical gaming experience entitled When Shadows Fall as the character Gold. Shanel also enjoys creating websites, photography, and her two cats: Alex and Lu. She looks forward to continuing creating in all avenues of art.
Debbie Viguié
Debbie Viguié to play the role of The Curator in Seekers of the Lost Worlds.
Debbie is the New York Times Bestselling author of over a fifty novels including the Wicked series co-authored with Nancy Holder and the Witch Hunt series.
Much of Debbie’s writing has a dark edge to it, including her retold fairy tales, her latest being Robin Hood: Demon’s Bane (co-authored with James Tuck), a retelling of the classic Robin Hood story infused with black magic and sorcery. In addition to her epic dark fantasy work Debbie also writes thrillers including the wildly popular Psalm 23 Mysteries and the Kiss trilogy.
Debbie also has extensive acting experience in the theater and has a starring role in Doctor Geek’s Laboratory of Applied Geekdom.
When Debbie isn’t busy writing she enjoys spending time with her husband, Scott, visiting theme parks. They live in Florida with their cat, Schrödinger.
Allison Farrell
Allison Farrell takes on the crucial role of Sara O’Hara in Seekers of the Lost Worlds.
Farrell is an actress, singer-songwriter, and comedian. She has been involved in both stage and screen productions from a very young age, and has recently ventured into the world of Voice Acting. Her most well-known role is that of Kira in the highly rated web series Afterworld. Allison is extremely excited to be joining this wonderful cast and crew for what she hopes is the start of something incredible.
