Mission Statement
The Story
"SEEN" is a short film about alienation. The film follows an animated man struggling to fit into a live action world. We see his ups and downs, share rueful laughs, and cringe at awkward moments. At his lowest, when he feels he'll never fit and and no one will ever understand, he has a chance encounter with a stop-motion animated girl passing in a city park. He finally feels understood and seen.

THE STYLE
Blending live-action and animation, our hope is to highlight our main character's feelings of disconnection and isolation while telling a heart-felt story about overcoming obstacles. We know that this artistic style will not only strengthen our themes, but also help the project stand out in festivals. The more festivals we get into, the more we can spread the message of "SEEN" and touch audiences all over the world.

WHY US?
The project is being made by a team of award-winning professionals and is a true labor of love and creativity. Between us, we have worked on projects that have played across major networks and streamers. Our Writer, Director, and Animator have received nominations for Emmys, Eisners, and top industry residencies for MGM, Cannes, the Black List, HBO, Netflix, and more.
Travis's past short films have played at festivals over the globe, from Cork, Ireland to Berlin, Germany, to the Museum of the Moving Image in NYC. It is our hope that "SEEN" can make an even bigger splash.

(Rachel's past work on the feature film "Quantum Cowboys.")
WHY NOW?
"SEEN" is a film close to our hearts, a film for anyone who has ever felt alienated, shunned, or that they just don't fit in. In our modern times of division and tribalism, we feel that highlighting the struggles of someone who sticks out while simply trying to live their life will make the audience think. We hope this will build audience empathy and make them consider the struggles of everyone they interact with in their daily lives. Truly a part of our modern zeitgeist, "SEEN" hopes to touch on the same themes of recent fish-out-of-water standouts like "I'm A Virgo" and "Barbie."

OUR CAST
Our amazing actors are SAG/AFTRA members and have been featured on major projects including "Succession," "Poker Face," "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," "Law and Order," "Law and Order: SVU," "Ally McBeal," The Disney Channel, and many more!

CURRENT STATUS
"SEEN" completed principal photography in Summer 2023. We are currently in the lengthy post-production phase. These funds will go toward animation, compositing, and final delivery of the short film for festivals.
We're keeping our fundraising goal low, but every additional dollar over our goal will help us finish the film faster and go towards the heavy costs of film festival submissions, promotion, and attendance. We'll be keeping every donor informed on stretch goals for promotion and film festivals.

Thanks for checking out our project! Please follow and share our page!
Every follow we receive opens us up to additional support from within Seed and Spark. The more followers we have on and off the platform will help our film gain traction when submitting to festivals in 2024!
