Mission Statement

As artists, we come from working-class, independent filmmaking backgrounds in Western New York, where community collaboration are at the heart of every project. We build stories like Shattered Dreams from the ground up with local talent, a microbudget, and a respect for authenticity.

The Story

Synopsis of Shattered Dreams

Shattered Dreams is a haunting psychological horror that explores what happens when trauma refuses to stay buried. Madison Blake’s sleepless nights spiral into waking nightmares that blur the line between memory and madness. As her reality unravels, she’s forced to face the terrifying truth within her own mind.

From the creative team behind the award-winning horror comedy Dyngus Day, this is the September Brothers’ first foray into full psychological horror. It’s about the monsters we make inside ourselves, and what happens when they start to take over.

The Whys

Why Us:

We’re the September Brothers production team, Western New York filmmakers who live and breathe indie storytelling. Our backgrounds in comedy, horror, and drama allow us to create grounded, character-driven stories with depth and heart. We’ve built a loyal audience by making high-quality films on micro-budgets and by turning local collaboration into art.

Why This Story:

Because horror is at its best when it has something to say. Shattered Dreams explores the quiet horror of trauma and the fragility of the human mind. It’s a story that connects with anyone who’s ever felt trapped inside their own thoughts.

Why Now:

We live in an age of uncertainty, isolation, and mental health awareness. This story matters now because it speaks to the fears many people carry silently inside themselves. We’re making Shattered Dreams to remind audiences they’re not alone in the dark.

Why You Should Get Involved:

Backing this film means supporting local, independent filmmaking and helping us prove that powerful stories can come from anywhere. Your support turns our passion into a film that stays with audiences long after the credits roll.

Shattered Dreams Timeline

We’re in active pre-production and gearing up to film in early 2026. Funds raised through this campaign will cover key production costs like locations, cast and crew wages, equipment rentals, and post-production editing. Every dollar helps us create something extraordinary with the resources we have.

After completion, Shattered Dreams will be submitted to film festivals and have community screenings across Western New York and (hopefully) beyond.

If we surpass 100% funding, stretch goals will enhance sound design, visual effects, and festival submissions, helping the film reach a wider audience.
