Mission Statement

Led by a fully female, Gen-Z producing team, Shrews merges the classic buddy comedy genre with a hyper-modern voice. This three-episode season lovingly satirizes what it means to be an artist from concept to final performance, reviving the mockumentary form and celebrating friendship.

The Story

In 2025, the first season of Shrews won “Best Comedic Ensemble” at New Jersey Web Fest (other nominations: Outstanding Comedy, Best On-Screen Chemistry, Best Director of a Comedy) “Outstanding Dynamic Duo” at NYC Web Fest, and received the “Local Spotlights” award at New York Independent Women Film Festival. Shrews was additionally an official selection at Big Apple Film Festival (“Best Episodic Content” nominee) and The Art of Brooklyn Film Festival. You can watch Season 1 of Shrews on YouTube here!

After receiving this series of accolades, the creative team behind Shrews has decided to expand our project and create a second season. The goal for Season 2 is to maintain the original quirky and scrappy aesthetic of season one, but with a more robust budget and production value to support a higher quality final product. We are confident in our ability to apply the skills we learned while producing Season 1 to level up smoothly for Season 2.

This season, Shakespeare nerds Fleurette and Sophia are back with a new mission: write, rehearse, and perform their brand-new original show The Taming of the Shrewsical: The Musical.

Episode 1: "Fleurette and Sophia Are On a Deadline"

  • In which Fleurette and Sophia must finish writing their two-person musical adaptation of The Taming of the Shrew, make sock puppets, and accidentally get addicted to nicotine gum.

Episode 2: "Fleurette and Sophia Can't Get Into the Club"

  • In which Fleurette and Sophia try to market their show, pretend to be influencers, and end up at a kink party in Ridgewood.

Episode 3: "Fleurette and Sophia Take a Bow"

  • In which Fleurette and Sophia flirt with their enemies, have technical difficulties, and get kicked out of a theater. But the show must go on! Will they succeed?

Release & Festival Strategy: In contrast to Season 1, we plan on submitting to festivals that require a world premiere, which means we may need to wait until after completing our festival circuit before releasing the series publicly. Our goal is still to reach as wide an audience as possible, so we will share all episodes as soon as we are able!
