The Story
THE STORY
Skip is convinced he has found a time machine by a dumpster, and he attempts to prevent a car accident that he may or may not have directly caused. Resetting clocks, daylight saving time, twin sisters, and other details all seem to back up his confused story. But every time he tries to fix the past, his present becomes worse. Will he save the day... from himself?
THE CHARACTERS
SKIP
Fool or hero? Perhaps both. Skip finds potential for adventure and excitement around every corner, even where it doesn't exist. He once thought he stumbled into a government conspiracy and was being hunted by men in black, never realizing they were just Mormons trying to help him. This time he's convinced he can go back in time to prevent a car accident that he might have also caused.
SARA
Sara has had a difficult day, and it is sadly about to get worse after an accident with Skip. All she wanted to do was have a beer with her sister, but somehow she gets wrangled into a night of danger and confusion.
TARA
Tara is Sara's twin sister, or, as Skip is led to believe, also Sara. Skip never notices she is wearing different clothes and has a different hairstyle from her sister's. And Tara never picks up on Skip's misunderstanding, much to her misfortune.
FRED
Skip's roommate Fred is no stranger to Skip's constant misadventures. Unfortunately, he has yet to escape them. All he wanted to do was stay home and watch a football game. But life is never that simple when dealing with the possibility of time travel.
THE BARTENDER
Played by Avery Moore, voted 2024's Best Stand-Up Comic in the Austin Chronicle, this bartender doesn't have time for adventure.
THE TIME MACHINE
It make look like a time machine, but would you believe it's just the Happy Time Popcorn Machine, now with flashing lights and extra long cord?!
THE PLAN
We've already shot the bulk of the film, but we now need the funds to finish it. Our fundraising goal covers the bare minimum of what we need to finish the film, but we could use a lot more. We can try to call in some favors and we can make this happen with the budget were raising, but it will be incredibly better if we raise more funds. This film deserves the best sound, music, and color grading possible and any money we receive over our budget can help make that happen.
And this is more than just a film. We'll use this proof of concept to pitch a series where every week, Skip finds himself in a different adventure based on a simple misunderstanding. Skip might think the mob moved next door, that aliens have invaded, or that he has somehow gained super powers to fight crime. Where "Seinfeld" was a show about nothing, "Skip Danger" will be an adventure about nothing.

About This Team
TIM SANDERSON
Tim Sanderson is an independent filmmaker from Austin, Texas, and has worked as an industry freelancer in Austin, San Antonio, and New York since 2002. He co-owns the production studio Well-Rounded Films, focusing on music videos and promotions for internationally touring bands. His first feature film, Nightlife, premiered at the Gen Art Film Festival in 2008. Tim finds humor in the slightly unexpected. He is most interested in the small ironies that interrupt the mundane, and in extrapolating those “what-ifs” into full on-screen realities that can make an audience laugh and think at the same time. He also dabbles in time travel.
DARREN SCHARF
Darren Scharf has been making films and music videos with his partners Tim and Frank for over two decades. When not making movies about vampires, clowns, or time travel, Darren can frequently be found on the stage around Austin. He has appeared in dozens of local theater productions and is a founding member of the Stage Austin, a theater company dedicated to saving Austin's dwindling performance venues. He also recently started a new short film production company, Anacacho Productions, with his partner Abby to help showcase nonprofit companies and local artists.
FRANK WEYSOS
Frank Weysos is a Texas-based filmmaker whose music videos have received press in several national media outlets including Rolling Stone, Paste, USA Today and The Wall Street Journal. As a managing partner at Well-Rounded Films, Frank is currently in development of his first feature film.
