Mission Statement
The Story
This is a film about the next generation of Hollywood, by the next generation of Hollywood. Sleeping Dogs Lie dives into the corruption and abuse of power that has tarnished our industry for too long, and continues to this day, but it also sheds light on the fact that rising filmmakers have the power to change things. People want original stories, people want to go to theaters, people want to see work that they can relate to.
Our crew is made up of some of the most promising young creatives that this industry has to offer, all working together to make a film about the industry that they want to be a part of, despite the industry that is.
Writer and Director, Samantha Mei Paull, has had films accepted into over 30 festivals, such as the Beverly Hills Film Festival and the Big Apple Film Festival, with a dozen award wins, including multiple for Best Director and Best Screenplay.
Your contributions are what make this film possible. From providing food and lodging for all cast and crew, to helping us afford the quality of crew and equipment to properly bring this story to life, every small contribution is what will allow us to get this story out there.
This is not a film that is meant to sit on a hard drive. Part of the purpose of your donation will be to help us pay for film festival submissions to get our film out there. This is a story with a message, with a real intention, but it doesn't do much good if no one sees it. We are aiming for a long and prosperous festival run, getting as many eyes on this story as possible, to make everyone's hard work worth it, and to prove that what audiences are yearning for is original, honest, and bold films like Sleeping Dogs Lie.
This is a film about Parker Haynes. Parker is the good and the bad in all of us. He has a dream, and he works hard to get it, but his lust for that dream can cause him to go down dark paths to ensure his success.
When he and his co-star, Willa, secure an invitation to the most elite getaway in the industry to Maxwell Campbell's beachside home, Parker finally feels like he has made it. But, as the night goes on, Parker discovers just how quickly his dream can turn into a nightmare. After seeing something he shouldn't have, Parker's morality is put to the test.
With secrets burning a hole in his pocket and guilt keeping him up at night, Parker must choose whether to speak up, risking his reputation and possibly his life, or to let sleeping dogs lie.

Our team is composed of industry veterans and talented newcomers. We have some of the best that Portland has to offer on this crew, as well as some special members flying from out of state to join this project. I couldn't be more excited to see what they all bring.
With a combined total of over 70 film festival acceptances and dozens of award wins across all of our crew's films, just one of them is enough to secure a project's success, but all of them is a combination you won't want to miss. And each of them deserves fair pay, a place to lay their head, and fresh meals every day, so any support that you could give would help us give our crew the best experience possible.
