Los Angeles, California | Film Short
Action, Comedy
Movies have seemed to lose their sense of fun these days. What happened to the jokes? The explosions? The three-car action chase sequences in the desert? We’re here to make a movie that fixes all of that. Literally blowing up the expectations of what a short film can be and having a blast doing it!

The Story
SNAFFLED is a short proof of concept film that is the culmination of influences, experiences, and work that have always come back to one simple idea of HAVING FUN! Our story finds STEVE, a wanna-be social media influencer, combing the desert for someone he holds dear but is responsible for having lost. Suddenly - he gets an ominous, crackling phone call with a lead… And off Steve goes! Finding himself thrust into a high speed car chase with a getaway car. As these two play a game of high speed chicken, they’re joined by a mysterious BADASS LADY hot on the trail as weirdness, hilarity, a BURNING MAN WIZARD and a THRILLING ACTION SPECTACLE ensue!!!

(THE INFLUENCER / THE GIRL NEXT DOOR TURNED BADASS / THE WIZARD OF THE SALTON SEA)
Many of us grew up on the classic comedies of Mel Brooks, Buster Keaton, The Three Stooges and I Love Lucy — Directors and Creatives who brought just as much heart to their stories as they did laughs. I was lucky enough to also have a grandmother who far preferred the ACTION genre to anything else. We’d sit and watch Zorro or Desperado (where she’d fast forward through the romance sequences to get back to the good stuff). Though as serious as her Action-tastes were when it came to media, nothing was ever above a decent laugh in her household. My Grandmother’s taste quickly morphed into my own: a crossroads between a deep love for the rip-roaring action of new classics like Mad Max: Fury Road or Taken and the side splitting comedy of Blazing Saddles or Some Like It Hot. At their core, all of these films have a foundation of fun, entertainment, and earnest truth — which is exactly what my team and I are bringing to SNAFFLED, and aim to bring more of to the media industry at large.

COMEDY CLASSICS: Blazing Saddles (1974 - Top Left) / Buster Keaton's Day Dreams (1922 - Bottom Right)
ACTION THRILLERS: TAKEN (2008 - Top Right) / Mad Max: Fury Road (2015 - Bottom Left)
As a female director, I’ve run up against expectations and barriers my entire career and I’ve defied them at every turn. Being my own one-woman crew: producing, filming, and editing a 20 minute documentary when I was 17. Getting into The Newhouse School at Syracuse. Rising in the film/TV industry as I worked my way up through multiple hit shows. And now - directing SNAFFLED and pulling off a professional-level extensive chase sequence with a small indie budget. Myself, and my team have lived our entire lives proving expectations wrong and having an by absolute blast while doing it.

(A young Mads with Buffy (in wax form) and 20 years later watching playback on SEAL Team)
