A buttoned-up office worker falls for an eccentric adrenaline junkie who introduces him to a Reddit-born cult called Stathamism. Its followers believe that maintaining constant adrenaline pleases a higher being, drawing inspiration from Jason Statham’s film Crank. When he is invited to their leader’s secluded home in New Hampshire, he quickly realizes their devotion is far more extreme and dangerous than he ever imagined.

Stathamism taps into the growing intersection between internet culture, identity, and belief systems. In an era where people increasingly turn to online communities for meaning, the film explores how easily satire, obsession, and isolation can spiral into real-world extremism. It reflects our collective fascination with hyper-masculine action heroes, the blurring of irony and sincerity in meme culture, and the dangerous appeal of fringe movements born on platforms like Reddit.

At its core, Stathamism is about what happens when people try to fill existential voids with chaos, adrenaline, and ideology. The film uses surreal comedy and psychological tension to confront these themes in a way that’s both entertaining and thought-provoking.

If we surpass our goal, this will go directly towards reimbursing our cast and crew, for all the hard work they have put into this project.

Why support our project?

What a great question! Aryan and I met in film school, where we started our production company Aderact Media. With the film industry in Boston at a stand-still, we came together to create our video & photo business. While we focus on more commercial work, our passion for the arts is always our main focus. Our dream is to have our production company solely create films, and this is our starting point. For the past 2 years we have been calling, coming up with ideas, only for them to get shot down for them being out of our budget. We finally have landed on a project we are both equally as passionate about, and best of all? It's realistic. We have no doubt we can achieve our funding goal, and bring this story to a screen near you! Sharing a passion for dark comedy, and satire films, this film is a collaboration of real life story, and fiction. Our biggest goal with this project is to have enough funding, to be able to create a project that can be submitted to streaming services. Watch our video down below to hear more about our story!
