STRIPES is about a young woman’s intrusive thoughts, slowly taking on a concrete & sinister form. Like the song, the video will tap into themes of self-destruction, loneliness, youthful ignorance, and love.

Mission Statement
The Story
We hope to confront vulnerabilities associated with youth. In adolescence, we often find ways to aggravate our existing dilemmas via negative coping mechanisms, before making our situation any better. This film aims to explore this tendency, and through surreal means, convey what our darkest inclinations would look like if they were to take on a physical form.
Sarah’s Director Statement
“STRIPES serves as an opportunity to jump-start my career as a music video director. As a young-female filmmaker in the industry, I’ve been able to sustain myself by producing & directing documentary-style, branded-content. And while it’s been very rewarding, my ultimate aspiration is to direct narrative, character-based films combined with experimental visuals - and that’s exactly what STRIPES is all about.
STRIPES is a particularly special project, as it carries autobiographical weight for both myself and Quinn. It explores the pain associated with losing a first love; making one have to decide whether to give into vice or choose to soberly carry the grief.”

Budget Breakdown
We are looking to raise $4,500, which is only 56% of our total budget ($8,000).
Seed & Spark requires us to meet 80% of our goal, otherwise we won’t receive any funding. So while our budget is $8,000, I have set our goal at $4,500 to increase our chances of receiving funds & offset total costs.
Our shoot will be taking place from May 12 to May 16 in Providence, RI, with our biggest expenses being crew, rental equipment, locations, and food.
The following chart demonstrates the exact breakdown of where the money will be going:

The majority of our cast and crew members are offering their services at discounted or pro-bono rates.
We have dedicated our time and efforts to make this project come to life, not for financial gain, but because we strive to implement our professional skill sets in making something purely out of passion & creativity.

Your contribution allows for Quinn & I to be one step closer in achieving our artistic dreams.
As independent artists, the release of this project can be a gamechanger for our careers. For me, STRIPES serves as an opportunity to prove myself as a music video director. And for Quinn, it’s an opportunity to strengthen his platform and propel his music into the mainstream. As for the rest of our predominantly female team, every donation further guarantees the opportunity for them to showcase their individual talents on a legitimate scale, and have a video that furthers their careers as a whole.
Other ways to support
We understand if you are unable to make a financial contribution to help us reach our goal. But if you are interested in STRIPES, there are plenty of other ways you can support the project:
1. Spread the word! Let your friends and family know about the music video by sharing our Seed & Spark Campaign!
2. Follow @munieka__ on Instagram to keep up to date with our progress!
And finally...

About This Team
Quinn Bentley, Musician

Quinn Bentley is an interdisciplinary artist, archivist, and musician based between Portland (OR), Paris (FR), and Providence (RI).
His practice is rooted in an interrogation of malleable dynamics between archives and their various forms of housing — from the flat file to the flea market — and expands out into painting, mechanical sculpture, and an ongoing digital, material archive, and music.
Quinn Bentley’s music focuses on the aspects of his life where his fine art cannot. Quinn Bentley and qbpb are two separate aliases. Quinn Bentley for acoustic and qbpb for everything electric dance to experimental sound.
Quinn received his BFA in Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2022. He also practices graphic design, video editing, and small scale renovation on commission.
