Mission Statement

Strong Enough exists to spark honest conversations about family dynamics, accountability and emotional resilience. Through powerful storytelling, we inspire healthier relationships, strengthen communication, and help families break unhealthy cycles - one conversation at a time.

The Story

Every family has a Dawn. She's the one who quietly carries the emotional weight, keeps the peace, and sacrifices her own needs so everyone else can make it through the day.Strong Enough is a heartfelt short film that follows Dawn, her overwhelmed mother Denise, and her brother MJ during one ordinary week that reveals years of unspoken pain, favoritism, and unconditional love. As long-held family patterns begin to unravel, each of them must decide what it truly means to love, forgive, and become strong enough to change. This story is deeply personal to me.

As an educator, author, and parent coach, I've spent years working with families navigating conflict, communication breakdowns, and the hidden roles children often assume to keep a family together. I've met countless "Dawns"—the dependable child who carries responsibilities beyond their years—and parents like Denise, doing their best while unknowingly repeating generational patterns.

Those real-life experiences inspired this film.

But Strong Enough is about more than one family. It's about creating conversations that help families heal. Following its festival run, we plan to host community screenings, discussions, and educational events in schools, churches, and community organizations, using the film as a catalyst for honest dialogue about communication, accountability, resilience, and breaking unhealthy cycles.

We've already shot the film, our cast and crew showed up and poured their hearts into it. Now is the moment to finish it, and you can be part of that.

Principal photography is complete, and we're now in post-production. Your support will help us finish the film

and bring this important story to audiences by funding post-production, festival submissions, and audience

outreach. Every contribution moves us one step closer to creating a film that doesn't simply entertain—it opens

hearts, starts conversations, and inspires change.

“Our goal is $10,000. Seed&Spark only releases funds if we reach 80% ($8,000)so every pledge counts.”

$12,500 — festival submissions & travel

$15,000 — a community-screening tour + discussion guides

$20,000 — a marketing push and a reserve toward the full feature, The Pampered Prince

There are three ways to be part of this:

1) Pledge at any level—every reward tier is below. 2) Follow the campaign—it's

free, and reaching 250 followers unlocks extra support for the film. 3) Share it with one person who loves a good

family story.

Together, we can create something that families will see themselves in—and remember long after the credits

roll. Because every family deserves the chance to become strong enough.

About This Team

C. Lynn Williams – Writer, Producer & Director
Lynn Williams is an author, educator, parent coach, and first-time filmmaker dedicated to telling stories that strengthen families and communities. Known to many as MsParentguru, she has spent years helping parents and teens build stronger relationships rooted in love, respect, and meaningful communication.

Her experiences as an educator, mother of four adult children, grandmother of six, and mentor have inspired six parenting books designed to help families communicate with love, respect, and confidence. She believes that "children should be taught how to dialogue and communicate responsibly," and that philosophy is woven throughout her books, coaching, and now her films.

C. Lynn holds an MBA from Roosevelt University in Chicago and has taught in both educational and corporate settings. She is the author of six parenting books, including Fathers & Sons: Raising Boys Through Dinosaurs, Testosterone & Girls and The Pampered Prince, which she later adapted into a screenplay.

Strong Enough marks C. Lynn's filmmaking debut as a writer, producer, and director. Inspired by the real-life stories she has encountered as an educator, parent coach, and mentor, the film explores the quiet burdens carried within families and the healing that becomes possible when love, honesty, and vulnerability replace silence. Through this film, C. Lynn hopes to inspire conversations that strengthen families, build healthier communities, and create lasting change.

When she's not writing or filming, C. Lynn coaches parents and young adults, mentors young women, serves her church and community, stays active, and finds inspiration in music. See more of her work at clynnwilliams.com or @clynnfilms.

Malachi Somerville – Director of Photography, Co-Producer, & Campaign Creative

Malachi Somerville is a Philadelphia-based filmmaker and director of photography, and the creative behind VisualizedByMal LLC. Over the past ten years he has delivered more than 500 visual projects nationwide, with work produced for and featured by outlets including Good Morning America and Watch the Yard, among other platforms.

As Director of Photography for Strong Enough, Malachi brings that experience to an intimate, character-driven story — using thoughtful cinematography to capture the family, resilience, and hope at the film's heart. His steady, professional hand is what turns C. Lynn's script into a finished, festival-ready film.

Beyond the camera, Malachi is collaborating on the Seed&Spark campaign, creating the behind-the-scenes and pitch content that connects audiences to the film's mission. See more of his work at visualizedbymal.com or on Instagram @whovisualizedyou.
