The Story

Set against the backdrop of 1991’s Hurricane Bob, A Temporary Matter is a visceral psychological horror short about a grieving couple in coastal New England who confront the monstrous consequences of loss, guilt, and the supernatural. When a mysterious fisherman infects Angie with a strange rash, it sets off a chain of surreal, body-horror events that culminate in the birth of something inhuman - and a storm of emotional and physical devastation.
This story was born out of real pain - uncomfortable, life-altering, transformative pain. Loss leaves behind a silence that words can't fill, a space in the world - and in the body - that feels lost. This film is not a direct retelling of these moments. But it carries its weight. Its texture. Its shadow.
Grief is a shapeshifter. It doesn’t arrive with clarity or closure. it sinks in slowly, twisting how we see ourselves, our relationships, even our own reflection. It isolates, it deforms, it devours. But it also reveals. It strips away illusion and makes room for something raw, honest, and deeply human.
Through supernatural elements, surreal visuals, and physical transformation, we’re holding up a mirror to internal devastation - the kind that no one sees, but that changes everything. This is a labor of love from a team who believes in the power of storytelling to heal and unsettle at once. We’re building prosthetic monsters. We’re using in-camera special effects. We’re leaning into atmosphere, sound, and texture to create a sensory experience that you feel as much as you see. This isn’t jump-scare horror. This is slow, aching, mythic dread - the kind that lingers in your chest.

We’re storytellers who believe vulnerability is strength. We aren’t just writing or directing from the outside, we’ve lived parts of this. This is a personal reckoning disguised as a film.
We want to make space for complicated grief. For emotions that don’t resolve neatly. For characters who are broken in ways that feel real and familiar. We believe cinema should do more than entertain - it should reflect us, challenge us, and sometimes even break us open.
We’re drawing inspiration from films like Possession, and The Witch, works that use genre to unearth emotional and existential truth. We want to contribute to that lineage. We want to say something meaningful with the tools we have - especially the ones we’ve made ourselves.
Our Latest Horror Film: MOURNING NIGHT (click to view)
Because grief doesn’t wait. Because loss is something we all face - whether it’s a person, a dream, a relationship, or a part of ourselves that we no longer recognize. We are in a time where people are quietly carrying so much, and yet so few places truly allow that pain to speak.
This film is a scream in a world that keeps asking us to whisper.
We’re making this now because it’s what we have to give. It’s how we process what we’ve been through. It’s how we hope to connect with anyone else who has ever felt hollowed out by loss and unsure what might fill the space again. We believe there's something powerful - maybe even sacred - about sharing that journey.
Our crew in action on 'Mourning Night'
Because you believe in the kind of art that takes risks. Because you know that films made from love and truth hit different. Because you want to see horror that isn't just about fear, but about feeling - deep, uncomfortable, cathartic feeling.
Your support isn’t just helping us make a film. It’s helping us tell a story that we hope will make people feel seen in their darkness. You’re helping us take grief - the kind no one talks about - and give it shape, voice, and meaning.
We can’t do it without you.
If this story speaks to you… if you’ve ever lost something or someone and struggled to make sense of the silence it left behind… If you believe in the power of cinema to transform… Then we invite you to be part of this. Not just as a backer, but as a collaborator in grief, beauty, and truth.
Thank you for believing in us - and for giving this story the chance to breathe and spread its wings (and tentacles).
Let’s make something unforgettable together!
