The Story

That Thing I Had That One Time" is a short film written by Australian filmmaker Jordan Fassina. This true story follows Sadie, an Australian young women who is unexpectedly pregnant with her boyfriend in the United States. Unsure whether or not she’s ready to be a parent or even deal with the ramifications of having a child in a foreign country. Sadie needs to come to terms with the decision whether or not to keep the child.

Jordan felt like it was time to share this story. She wanted to let women across the world know that they are not alone. Especially because it feels like that while making this decision.  Even with the support of the significant others, at the end of day it's her body her choice.

The Tone

The tone of the film will be a dark comedy. Jordan made it a point not to make an overly dramatic film and put a little bit of her twisted humor into the mix. The film will be vibrant and filled with colors to contrast the heavy nature of some of the scenes. Inspired by projects like “Sorry To Bother You”, “Juno”, “You’re The Worst” we wanted to make an irreverent project that will leave you speechless.

Here are some images that really match the feel we're going for in the film

The Director

To achieve that tone Jordan hired Independent Film Director OJ Reyes. Jordan has previously worked with Reyes twice and quickly developed a good trusting relationship. She knew that she could come to him with the sensitive nature of the story and that he would bring the story to life exactly how she has envisioned.  In his past films Reyes has been able to balance drama and comedy and will do so once again in this short.

What We Need

As you can see in our wishlist, everything is pretty standard for film productions. Locations and Crew are the two key assets. The film features scenes in a neon night club, a beautiful brooklyn rooftop, doctor's office and Sadie's vibrant apartment. We're teaming with some great location scouts that allow us to find these places with a price. We want this film to POP. And you can help us do so.

Thank You

This is one story that many women can relate to and we want them to know that they’re not alone. So contribute to telling this story and bringing more awareness to a subject that not many want to talk about.
