Like most perfect couples, Violet and Jamie are unaware that their entire relationship is about to change. On a night that should have been a celebration of love and connection, Violet and Jamie return from dinner with her mother and get into a heated fight that moves throughout the home they've built together. Their cultural differences are bigger than they had anticipated and the space between appreciation and adversity now seems like a chasm. Will they be able to reconcile their differences if they can't see each other's side?

Best known from the hit CW TV Show "All American: Homecoming" these two extraordinary actors are joining together for their first project together as love interests.

Netta Walker is an actress, producer, and published playwright from Jacksonville, Florida and Martin Bobb-Semple is an actor from England who has been acting on stage and TV since the age of 9.



Growing up mixed-race, I often felt like I existed between two worlds, never fully seeing myself reflected in the stories on screen. This absence of representation wasn't just frustrating, it shaped my understanding of identity as something fragmented rather than whole. In film and media, narratives too often simplify culture and identity into stereotypes or leave voices like mine out entirely; which is why I want to tell stories that reflect the complexities of navigating mixed identities.

With this film, I wanted to explore a very personal aspect of relationships that I had not seen in many films before (albeit a far from new one): my British boyfriend and my Korean mother didn’t get along right away. There were cultural differences that I hadn’t anticipated and never knew to prepare for. These tensions were intensified by unspoken expectations, cultural misunderstandings, and differing values. This film reflects that emotional tug-of-war and the difficulty of balancing love and loyalty between the people closest to us. It’s about the invisible lines we walk when we’re caught between honoring family and protecting our own emotional autonomy. When I partnered up with Netta Walker, the brilliant actress and producer of this short, her half-Filipino background helped to give the script an invaluable perspective that brought the story to life. I wanted to write and direct this film to showcase a modern love that spans cultures, and to represent the benefits and obstacles that a multicultural relationship can face and overcome.

We went into production in May of 2024, with one night to shoot the entire short. With many of the crew behind "All American: Homecoming" with us, this short became the last thing we were able to work on together before the show was unfortunately canceled. Many of you may be fans of the show and were as devastated as we were to lose that show. But the love and respect each of us had for the show and each other was extended through this special project that we were all able to come to on together.

The film is finally now finished and we want the world to see it! Our plan is to submit to as many relevant festivals as we can in order to garner more interest and to possibly get enough attention to turn this little labor of love into a FULL LENGTH FEATURE!

How did Violet and Jamie meet? How did they fall in love? Will it last? As Celine Song has said, not everyone knows how to rob a bank, but everyone knows what it's like to fall in love. This is a love story that is young, fresh, and global.
