The Story
Now more than ever, cases of domestic abuse are on the rise. People are less mobile as a result of the pandemic and this is making victims even more vulnerable than before. The aim of this film is to spread awareness about abuse so that people understand and are in a better position to help others.
As a survivor of sexual and verbal abuse, I found that victms are under-represented in film and TV. Hollywood has an idea that healing happens suddenly, when in reality it happens very slowly and in small moments. This film is intended to provide hope for anyone who's struggling - to help rebuild themselves and their lives. This film will also provide insight for people who have not gone through this so they can lend a hand to someone who is struggling. This is a story of hope for those people who can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. Because there is a future and healing is possible!
COVID-19 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS: Our production team is extremely mindful and conscientious about the current pandemic. We are implementing all safety protocols into our production based on industry guidelines that have been recomended thus far by public health officials and the entertainment unions. We will have a medical professional on set serving as our COVID Supervisor, as per SAG/AFTRA requirements.
Director Joe Benedetto is bringing Charlotte's story to life. Joe has an extensive backgrond in the film industry.
His 23-min. b&w crime noir “Hide the Sausage” screened at 28 film festivals in 2015 & 2016, and aired worldwide on ShortsTV (the theatrical distributor of all the Academy Award nominated short films).
In addition to co-writing and co-producing the upcoming 2020 release “Sarah Q.” (starring Academy Award nominees Burt Young and Sally Kirkland), Joe was hired to write the screenplays “The Jersey 4,” “Devastation,” and “Amazin’” (based on Pulitzer Prize winner Jimmy Breslin’s book “Can’t Anybody Here Play This Game?” about the 1962 New York Mets). The latter of which will be produced by Academy Award winningproducer Brad Wyman (“Monster”).

The Four Walls of Charlotte Moreland takes you on a journey into the gaslighting and confusion of life post trauma. In the aftermath of an abusive relationship Charlotte doesn't know her own mind. She can't remember the girl she once was and is now redefined by the messaging of exploitation. She's struggling wth agoraphobia and rarely leaves the house. Panic and depression overhwhlem her.
She's cut off contact with her ex, but her state of mind is damaged further as he continues to stalk her. A once vibrant and beautiful girl is now replaced with a fragile sunken imitation of the person she once was. Her isolation is exacerbated by the fact that she no longer knows her own mind.
There's promise of life for Charlotte. It comes in the form of small moments, tiny revelations, and flashes of happiness through the people who have not given up on her. Small acts of kindess from strangers, new relationships, the steafastness of true friends, and a helpful therapist who helps her untangle the lies she's now basing her self image upon.
In the end Charlotte finds her soul again and is reborn stronger and happier than before. She regains the light inside her that had been lost.

We are taking every precaution during production. There aren't any intimate scenes and we intend to wear masks while on set until our director calls "action!"
