The Story
The Night We Borrowed follows two unlikely strangers—a weary LAPD homicide detective and a recently widowed woman in Los Angeles on business—whose paths unexpectedly cross on an ordinary Tuesday night.
Neither of them is looking for romance or redemption. But over the course of one night, honest conversation slowly gives way to something far more unsettling: the realization that another person can sometimes see through the stories we've spent years telling ourselves.
It's a film about loneliness, timing, and the terrifying freedom that comes when someone truly sees you for who you are.

Why I'm Making This Film
Some stories begin with an idea. This one began without me realizing it.
For the last fifteen years I've worked on film sets, in cocktail bars, and at private events all across Los Angeles. Those jobs have placed me inside rooms I never would have entered otherwise.
I've spent thousands of hours watching people celebrate, fall in love, chase impossible dreams, reconnect, hide disappointment, quietly fall apart, and begin again.
Over time those moments accumulated. A conversation overheard at a bar. Someone quietly leaving a restaurant alone. Two strangers whose paths almost crossed.
None of those moments are literally this film.
But without them, this film wouldn't exist.

The Los Angeles you'll see in The Night We Borrowed isn't the postcard version. It's the city that reveals itself after dark—in neighborhood restaurants, late-night taco trucks, hotel lobbies, quiet intersections, and all the ordinary places where extraordinary moments quietly happen.

Where Your Support Goes
Every dollar raised through this campaign goes directly onto the screen. Our crowdfunding goal represents a significant portion of our production budget, with the remainder being covered through our own investment.
Your support helps us compensate our actors, rent camera and lighting equipment, record and mix professional sound, secure locations and insurance, build the world of the film through production design, and complete post-production.
Our goal is simple: complete principal photography this fall, move immediately into editing and post-production, and premiere The Night We Borrowed in 2027.
This campaign isn't about making a bigger movie.
It's about making the right movie—with the care, craft, and authenticity this story deserves.

Thank You
Independent films don't happen because someone gives permission.
They happen because a community decides they're worth making.
If this project resonates with you, you're not simply helping finance another independent film. You're helping bring a deeply personal Los Angeles story to life, and proving that intimate, chara
cter-driven films still matter.
Thank you for being part of The Night We Borrowed.
