The Story
Director's Statement
An estranged relationship in a dystopian world forms the basis for my story, The Quiet. I have always marveled at the way families give love and how love can be preserve despite all odds. This story demonstrates the power of one family’s love in the face of ultimate despair.
The Quiet also manifests the inability of truth and its tragic consequences. My personal experiences have shown me that inability can lead to irreversible damage. Deception burns relationships in time and this tale cautions against secrets kept. I share this uncomfortable story with you, not only to marvel at the power of unconditional love, but also to recognize the pain of our personal truths when left in silence.

Matt Altman -Born and raised in New York city, Matt's love of reading, martial arts, comics, and movies started at a very young age. He went to Suny Albany where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the Honor's English program. He worked in theater on Broadway doing lights like his father and worked on such shows as Les Miserables at the Imperial, Nine with Antonio Benderas at the Neil Simon, and South Pacific at the Vivian Beaumont theater, while writing in his spare time and honing his craft. A third Dan Black belt in Tae Kwan Do and 5th Dan Black Belt in Chinese Hawaiian Kenpo, Matt placed in the top 30 semifinals of the Nicholl fellowship in 2008, and was a top 4 finalist in the horror Slamdance competition in 2010, a finalist in American Zoetrope, Script Pipeline, Creative world Awards and Page International Awards. In January 2011, through the encouragement of his manager, Matt moved to LA and has been a full time writer out here ever since.
