Mission Statement

Our mission is to tell a bold, emotionally resonant horror story through a female lens. The Quiet Hours features a female-led cast, includes LGBTQ characters, and explores identity, trauma, and toxic love.

The Story

Hey there! My name is Anna Hammill, and I'm an independent horror filmmaker passionate about telling emotionally-driven, psychologically disturbing stories through a female lens. My previous films - Static, Darby After Dark, Quarantine, and Stay With Me - explored themes of isolation, identity, and inner darkness.

Now, I’m thrilled to be in post-production on my most intimate and ambitious project yet:

The Quiet Hours.

Our last Seed&Spark campaign raised just over $5,000 for production thanks to your incredible support! Now, production has officially wrapped, and we are ready to begin editing! Crafting the tension, atmosphere, and emotional weight will bring this story fully to life. Post-production is where horror truly breathes through sound, pacing, color, and silence.

Thank you for being here and helping us finish what we’ve started!

After a failed suicide attempt, Chloe’s friends take her on a weekend trip to a remote forest cabin. It’s meant to be a time for rest, recovery, and reconnection. But as the weekend unfolds, something begins to feel…off.

What begins as a gentle healing retreat slowly unravels into a waking nightmare where reality blurs, tensions rise, and a dark presence in the woods begins to feed off their unspoken pain. Think Midsommar meets Evil Dead; a blend of psychological unease and visceral terror.

The Quiet Hours is a horror story rooted in emotional truth. It explores the invisible labor women give in friendships and relationships, the way identity can erode in the name of love, and what it really means to sever toxic attachments...at any cost.

Our Bare Minimum Goal: $2,200

This amount allows us to complete a professional, festival-ready cut of The Quiet Hours. With this funding, we can finalize the essential post-production needed to finish the film. Our team is partially deferring rates and investing back into the film to help us cross the finish line at this minimum level.

Editing – $1,000

Narrative assembly, pacing refinement, revisions, trailer creation, and locked cut.

Sound Design – $500

Dialogue cleanup, atmospheric horror design, and foundational mix to ensure the film delivers tension and clarity.

Color Correction – $500

Professional correction pass to ensure visual consistency, tone, and a cohesive cinematic look.

Visual Effects – $200

Although our creature is primarily practical, there are a few VFX shots needed to help bring the horror elements fully to life.

Total Minimum Completion Budget: $2,200

What We're REALLY Hoping for - Our Stretch Goal: $5,500

If we reach $5,000, we can fully realize the complete post-production vision for The Quiet Hours.

With this stretch goal, we will elevate every technical and creative aspect of the film to ensure it is fully polished, festival-ready, and released at the highest possible quality.

Horror relies heavily on atmosphere, emotion, and technical precision. To achieve the haunting tone of The Quiet Hours, we are working with post-production artists to craft a powerful soundscape, an edit that will keep you on the edge of your seat, and a locked festival-ready cut.

Editing – $1,200

Narrative assembly, pacing refinement, revisions, trailer creation, and locked cut.

Color Grade – $800

Professional cinematic color grading to bring the visual world of the film to life.

Sound Design & Final Mix – $900

Dialogue cleanup, atmospheric horror design, and final stereo mix suitable for festival screening.

Original Score – $600

Custom horror scoring to heighten psychological and emotional tension.

Visual Effects – $500

Although our creature is primarily practical, there are a few VFX shots needed to help bring the horror elements fully to life.

Poster & Key Art – $300

Festival-quality marketing artwork and promotional materials.

Marketing & Online Promotion – $200

Campaign promotion, social media assets, and festival announcement graphics.

Storage & Editing Drive – $200

External SSD storage purchased to securely store footage, project files, and edit the film during post-production.

Festival Submissions – $800

Targeted submission strategy for major genre festivals including:

• Screamfest

• Beyond Fest

• Fantastic Fest

• Additional domestic and international horror and genre festivals

These festivals typically charge around $40–$60 per submission, allowing for approximately 13–20 targeted festival submissions depending on deadline tiers. While festival acceptance is never guaranteed, submitting to a strong, focused list of genre festivals increases the film’s visibility and gives it the best possible chance of reaching the right audiences and programmers.
