A film based on satirical poem that delves into the intricacies of traditional marriage & the surrender of self to inevitable ends. By portraying Death as a relatable figure, the film examines love & sacrifice, urging us to reflect on emotional truths in a world grappling w/grief & disconnection.

Mission Statement

Our goal is to create a visually striking, thought-provoking film that embodies the essence of visual poetry. By exploring the psychological underpinnings of traditional marriage, we aim to reflect the dying wishes of the patriarchy as it seeks to regress to "simpler times."

The Story

In 2017, my beloved puppy, Veda, drowned in the pet sitters pool.

As I navigated the grief of her loss, an image of Death visited me in a meditation and offered me a single red poppy.

Upon researching the symbolism I discovered that in the West, red poppies are linked to remembrance and consolation, while in the East, they signify a deep and passionate love between couples.

I chose to lean into the latter and the poem "The Salesman" was birthed from that exploration.

In April 2025 I published my first collection of poems "a woman in pieces". Since then, I have been using my filmmaking skills to create little book trailers for social media to promote the work. I have always imagined "The Salesman" as a short film, and I'm excited to share this poetry in images as my directorial debut.

While envisioning the world of The Salesman this iconic "Housekeeping Weekly" article from 1955 popped into my psyche. For the film, I've woven these so-called "pearls-of-wisdom" through set pieces and costume, creating a modern-day version of matrimony frozen in time.

Meet the cast

I'm excited to be working with Vincent

Stalba who will be playing my husband aka Death. He brought the perfect blend of spooky and unassuming to the role.

We are all set for a Jan 31 shoot date and I will continue to update this story as we go

into production with bts footage and photos.

Check out this bad ass car my neighbor Fritz has donated for us use!

*For this campaign, AI was used to generate portions of this campaign for the following reasons*
We wanted to put as much of our existing budget towards making the film.
Death offers a flower video/pic: I searched FrameSet for an existing clip that could represent this plot point to no avail.
"Daycare" Wishlist thumbnail: I thought it was a funny & cute representation of the theme of our "baby registry".
Movie Poster Incentive thumbnail: This is not our actual poster. We will work with a marketing team and designer once our film is in the can and ready to hit the festivals.
