The Story
Luke, played by Griffin Johnston, lives in fear that his friends will discover that he's never slept with someone, when they -and his roommate Doug (Peter McGee) in particular- seem to bring girls home on a daily basis. But when a slip of the tongue leads to the secret getting out, Luke finds himself forced to be outgoing when all he wants to do is hide.
The film is a heartwarming look at social anxiety and masculinity: what's expected of men in dating, and what really counts underneath it all. Luke discovers that, despite Doug's ostensibly effortless success, his own talents may be even more valuable in romance, and lead to more satisfying results. In the time of dating apps and hookup culture, we hope that The Virgin will serve as a reminder that there's nothing wrong with being reserved, and that oftentimes the real problem is simply overthinking.
We Need Your Help!
The Virgin is filmed and ready to be released, pending music. Our team is based all around the country, and yet we were able to get together for one week in New York last September and execute the script flawlessly. Every scene looks exactly how we envisioned it, the acting is fantastic; now we just need the soundtrack. Any contribution you can make will directly help us hire a composer and pay for instrumental recording sessions, and we hope that you're able to help make this a reality!
Filming The Virgin required a tremendous amount of coordination and effort. From flying cast and crew out from Los Angeles to filming in a Brooklyn pizza restaurant at midnight, every step of the process was a challenge and an adventure. We just need a little help getting over the finish line!

We'll be looking to submit the film to as many festivals as possible- this is our starting amount, and anything more will also help!
