This is a story about Beau, a small-town surfer who discovers that his lineage is more of a legacy than a legend. As he reveals a hidden truth, he embarks on a treasure hunt of his own.

Mission Statement

Baylie and Josh are huge advocates of bringing film productions back to Florida. This short film is just the beginning of Beau’s journey that they plan to develop into a feature with the hopes of continuing to shoot in the sunshine state.

The Story

Beau discovers that his family’s tales about pirates that sailed into his town over three hundred years ago and the hunt for the Queen’s lost dowry still exists today. Against all odds, he finds himself lured into finding the dowry himself and searching for the answers he was left questioning years ago.

Why This Film...

What makes this story special, is that it incorporates the true history of Florida and the wonders of the Treasure Coast. The Treasure Coast is called such because, over three hundred years ago, the Spanish Plate Fleet was destroyed in a violent and vicious storm leaving in its wrath an enormous trail of treasure along and on the ocean floor. A whopping $200 million of escudos, royales, and the most beautiful, ornate jewels and treasures created specifically for the new Queen of Spain, Elizabetta or Isabella Farnese sank to the ocean floor. Pirates from all over the globe were inspired to sail into town to plunder the massive wreckage. Three hundred years later, treasure enthusiasts and history buffs still dive to the ocean floor in search of the Queen's lost dowry.

Today, treasure hunters (the modern-day pirate) have spent/spend an inordinate amount of time searching for the Queen’s Jewels, the alleged lost dowry of Queen Isabella Farnese. It’s been reported that only 30% of the known treasure that went missing in the sinking of the 1715 Spanish Plate Fleet has been recovered.

We hope to capture the attention of the history buffs, the locals who have come to call the Treasure Coast home, as well as the eyes and minds of Hollywood with hopes of bringing this historical short film, and the legend that revolves around it to life.

We aspire to get this onto your screens at home as a feature film!

We Are Filming In Florida!

Both our Producer, Baylie Barnes, and our Writer/Director, Josh Friedman are huge advocates of bringing film productions back to Florida.

It's heavily known that Florida's film productions have declined since Florida revoked the film incentive in 2014. Without Florida's rebate, we are hoping to finance a quality film in which we will fund with the contributions from this campaign.

Fully aware that Florida has lost some of its "film thunder" due to its lack of film funding policies, we are up to the challenge of creating a locally-based, and historically driven film.

The economic benefits of bringing industry work to the state not only augments the production, but also provides job opportunities and creative outlets for the community. We hope this brings awareness of film-induced tourism to the state.

With this short film, we hope to showcase Florida's beautiful locations, talented cast, and hardworking crew members in hopes others will be inspired to choose Florida as their next shooting location.

Baylie has been an active member of Film Florida, writing letters to our state representatives with the intent of enlightening them on behalf of the benefits of shooting in the sunshine state.

We also pledge to only use locally-owned restaurants for our catering needs!

Also Collaborating with Nelson Makes Art!

Every masterpiece Nelson paints always begins by building off of light that ripples outward onto water, leaves, concrete, etc. He aims to bring the wonder of light to commonplace scenes, making them extraordinary, or finding unusual places where light takes on a new meaning. Fun fact, he usually paints while in flip-flops.

Notable commissions include custom-painted surfboards for Grammy nominee, Jimmy Buffet, and a commercial art series for El Yucateco Hot Sauce. Nelson’s original art is featured in 12 House of Blues sites throughout the U.S. One of his notable works include working with Grammy-recognized EDM recording artist, Ryan Farish to create hand-painted art for his new album cover and singles.

We are excited to announce his art will also be featured in our film as a part of our set design of/for Beau's house.

Nelson has also generously offered 5 exclusive hand-painted necklaces as an incentive for your contribution to our project!
