“A few days after a zombie outbreak, roommates Trey and Plank are watching the news. Suddenly, everything breaks out in a panic when their other roommate Hutch returns home looking like a zombie. Come to find out, an inattentive Hutch was scratched by a rising zombie moment prior, yet he sounds perfectly normal. Not sure what to do, the three turn their attention to the news and watch what happens to ‘breached’ zombies on live TV. Terrified for their friend, Trey and Plank decide to hide their zombie-looking friend, but things get out of hand quickly.”

   Three Dudes & a Minor Zombie Apocalypse is exactly what the title supposes it is: three dudes reacting to the absurdity of a zombie apocalypse happening around them. The three are vastly thrown out of their comfort zones and must be quick on their feet to not let their zombified friend be seen. It’s a story driven by raw friendship, curiosity, and frustration.

   This idea of a minor apocalypse is nonsensical, but intentional, as it sets the tone for the film along with implying where the story is going. There stakes are high for the situation the three find themselves in, but an overlapping theme of making the best of each incident never ceases. Nothing is meant to be taken at face value, but the story needs to be grounded in a believable way, where you, the audience, believe these are real characters reacting to the real world around them, albeit, the world I have crafted.

   Something I’ve taken to heart as a filmmaker is to take something already done and put your own spin on it, and with this story, I feel confident in that concept. It’s a screwball comedy based upon zombie movie tropes with the goal of being fun, goofy, and engaging. These characters are rooted in realism and react to the absurd around them. With every unexpected twist and turn, they adapt and power through by the means of their wits and palpable sense of brotherhood. Trey, Plank, and Hutch all have a special place in my heart and all I can hope for is to show you how much they mean to me.

 This project is what I have been working towards these past 4 years. It is the culmination of everything I have learned in the realms of storytelling and filmmaking techniques. More specifically, this is the project what I want to show future employers and investors. It’s ambitiously creative and most certainly my own unique voice proving what I have to offer as a filmmaker.

  Why this film? On the topic of it being ambitious, it’s overly ambitious if I’m being honest, but I crave a challenge. I always have. The pursuit of accomplishing a challenge is why I am here now asking for your help. I cannot simply be satisfied with the bare minimum; I must push boundaries. I want to shoot for the stars and aim for a successful film festival run. This thrill of pushing our limits is not just what filmmaking is all about, but a means of character. I want to push for growth, and I just can’t wait to get started. This film gets me all giddy thinking of its potential and that’s what drives me. So, all I’m asking is for your attention. Let me take into my head and show you the world I’m trying to create because I don’t think you’ll forget it.

   Any and all contributions will go straight into our production, whether it be for our camera department, make-up team, or crew necessities. Most funds will be used at the beginning of summer during production, but post-production has a life of its own, aiming for an inital cut of the film by September.

Not only that, but since this story is a low-budget production, it requires a lot of creative ways in getting the shots we want. As director, it is my duty to make sure everyone is safe on set and comfortable in that. Also, your generosity will help make sure everything be in conjunction with COVID-19 protocols on set.
