Mission Statement

Our mission is to finish creating an intimate, character-driven film that explores desperation; the hunger to be wanted, to make something imperfect still feel like enough. We strived to create a film that let's audiences sit inside that desire rather than judge it.

The Story

Three’s a Party is an intimate coming-of-age short that takes place over one chaotic shared birthday night between Jude, her twin brother, and his girlfriend. Jude has spent most of her life as a people pleaser, quietly putting everyone else's needs before her own. What begins as a simple birthday celebration gradually unravels as long-buried tensions, unmet expectations, and difficult emotions rise to the surface. Over the course of one chaotic night, Jude is forced to confront what she wants, what she's willing to sacrifice, and whether the people she loves truly see her. The film explores longing, loneliness, codependency, and the desperate need to feel understood.

We wanted to tell a queer story that embraces messiness and finds humor in the chaos while still honoring the heartbreak of repressing your feelings. Inspired by intimate, naturalistic films like Passages, Three’s a Party centers uncomfortable honesty and vulnerability in relationships that feel impossible to untangle. I believe it is essential that we create space for stories that allow characters to be fully human; messy, flawed, loving, and lonely. Films like Three's a Party are important because they expand the kinds of stories that get told and who gets to tell them. Meaningful representation isn't just about visibility; it's about creating opportunities for audiences to see themselves reflected with honesty and depth. We believe independent filmmakers have the power to help shape a more inclusive future for cinema, and that change happens when communities come together to support one another's stories.

Your contributions will directly support post-production, including sound design, color grading, insurance fees, festival submissions and more. We are currently finishing up color grading and have started sound design. These funds will allow us to pay the hardworking post crew in a timely manner. The film is on track to be finished by the end of Summer 2026.

With your help we can bring Three's a Party to audiences soon!
