Mission Statement
The Story
We have all had to go through something, whether it was confronting a big challenge, dealing with incredible pain or heartbreak, or even facing seemingly small setbacks that we didn't know how to solve. Through is a heartfelt story centered around every day people, the struggles they face, and the hope of where things can go when they push through the problem to the other side.

Something exciting that sets Through apart from other short films is the way it is being created. We have a principal cast of 14 actors who have created this story from the ground up. We started with developing our own characters that could play into our individual strengths as actors. Using that groundwork, our writer, Lauren was able to weave together a beautiful script full of laughter and tears, that we are so excited to bring to life.
After having created the characters and story, we have been planning shooting schedules, scouting locations, and recruiting an incredible crew, in addition to rehearsing scenes all to help us prepare a film we know we will be incredibly proud of. With your help and generosity, we will be able to afford to pay for a top notch crew and some key locations to create this short film in the way we want to create it. We will be using donations during production and post-production.
These current days, where it seems like every day brings new struggles, we hope that Through will be a heartfelt reminder of the importance of pushing through pain and the hope of healing and connection that can come when we do.

Our film consists of multiple storylines that occur at different places. We need to devote some of our funds to securing locations.

We need to rent sound equipment so that our short film has the best audio we can provide.
Professional Film Crew

We want to be able to pay our crew in order to make the best film we can.
Editing Services

Editing is an extremely important part of the process of any film. This will cover a portion of those editing costs.

About This Team
Meet the team of Through!
Tom Nagel
Director
Tom Nagel, born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, is a versatile figure within the entertainment industry, having various roles as an Actor, Director, Cinematographer, and Producer. He is recognized for his work in films such as Man of Steel, Relentless, The Dead Matter, and The Toybox. Following his service in the U.S. Navy, he relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in filmmaking. Over time, he transitioned from acting to also include directing and producing in his repertoire. Tom, alongside his brother Brian Nagel, established their production company, Steel House Productions, in August of 2013.
Tom has worked on hundreds of projects and traveled the world filming in exotic places like Belize and Indonesia. Presently, Tom is actively involved in producing and directing commercials and films through their production company.
Lauren Nichols
Writer/Producer/Actor
Lauren Nichols is an LA trained actress and proud member of SAG-AFTRA. While living in Los Angeles, she studied intensely with elite training programs such as Lesly Kahn and Company, Tim Phillips, and the famous Groundlings School. Lauren can be seen in many national commercials including Digiorno, Nestle Tollhouse, Ciroq, Carnation, and Nokia. Her television credits include guest star roles on Chicago Justice (NBC) and Scandal (ABC). Lauren appeared as “Xtina” in Todrick Hall’s Pop Star High, which was successfully piloted after its release, and she recorded the original cast album. Her film credits include sharing the screen with fantastic talents such as Nicolas Cage in Dog Eat Dog, Madtown with Milo Ventimiglia, and Assassin’s Code with Justin Chatwin. She can also be seen in White Boy Rick, and Triumph’s Summer Election Special and most recently wrapped the Netflix Film White Noise (currently post production). Through is Lauren's screenplay debut!
Angela Boehm
Producer
Angela Boehm, the dynamic and seasoned founder of Angela Boehm Casting, has built an exceptional career in the entertainment industry. Her journey began with the creation and nurturing of Olmsted Performing Arts, an acclaimed arts center in Northeast Ohio. Angela’s vision and leadership were instrumental in transforming the center into a vibrant cultural hub and an invaluable resource for the community.
Drawing on her passion for the arts and her deep understanding of the creative process, Angela expanded her horizons to the world of film, bringing her expertise in casting to the silver screen. Her extensive experience in the industry includes collaborating on high-profile productions such as Superman, Wildcat, Back in Action, White Noise, Judas and the Black Messiah, Queen and Slim, Cherry, Fast 8, and White Boy Rick.
Through will be Angela's directorial debut.
