Timeless Streets is a thrilling heist story that’s a love letter to the various heist movies that have come before it. The film will engage with themes of complex relationships, self-destruction, and survival all while maintaining the core elements of a heist film that audiences have come to expect.

Mission Statement

As film students, our top priority is learning how to become better filmmakers. To fully delve into this endeavor, we understand that nothing is more valuable than hands-on working experience. Through this film, we will hopefully explore, apply, and develop what they have learned in the classroom.

The Story

OUR PRODUCTION COMPANY:

Studio 21 Entertainment is a film/television production company dedicated to showcasing the work of local talent and giving exposure to the many individuals out there looking for a chance to make it into the film industry. Our studio is committed to creating new and original content from all types of creators. We have partnered up with a student organization, Maroon and Gold Entertermaint (MGE), to produce our biggest production to date that is completely run and produced by students from Arizona State University.

The story of Timeless Streets is the story of Kaden: A young and reckless man who, after failing to pull off a heist, must now team up with his old partner Mia to carry out an even high-risk job to clear the bounty on his head. Despite the troubled past that left them estranged, the two must now partner up once again to pull off one last job. Added to this mix is Jules, a lone warrior figure and friend of Mia who has issues of his own that hopefully, this task will help take care of. With our main crew completed, they must now learn how to work together in order for them to pull off this job. Timeless Streets is a thrilling heist story that’s a love letter to the various heist movies that have come before it. The film will engage with themes of complex relationships, self-destruction, and survival, all while maintaining the core elements of a heist film that audiences have come to expect.

This has been a passion project for me that I've been working on ever since my senior year of high school. I've always had this vision of telling a bigger scale project that not only challenges me as a writer/director but also helps me perfect my filmmaking skills. Now, after two years of writing and crafting the story, I am ready to show it to everyone and try to deliver on my own interpretation of a heist film.  As a Hispanic filmmaker, I want to bring representation both in front and behind the camera. Therefore, for every film I make, I want to partner with as many diverse groups of students to tell stories that will have audiences on the edge of their seats.

With this estimated twenty-six-minute short film, we are looking to take audiences on a thrilling, mysterious, and shocking journey all in the company of interesting and dynamic characters. Ever since I was a kid, I've always loved watching heist films and witnessing the most complex tasks being completed by interesting and dynamic characters in the span of one runtime. With this film, I want to deliver that same experience to all audiences and give them that excitement I've come to relish. With this film, we also want to showcase what a student production can bring to the level in terms of quality and impact.

Some of the films that inspired me to go out there and create my own take on heist films are the films Widows, Ocean's 11, Baby Driver, and Drive. Not only do these films showcase an engaging heist story, but they also showcase some very dynamic and interesting characters that have you invested throughout the entire length of the story. With this in mind, this is what I want to showcase with this film! I want to introduce people to these complex and dynamic characters and have them invested in their emotional journey even after the credits roll.

Currently, our team is in the pre-production stage as we prepare to make this short film a reality within the next few months. We are currently in the process of casting all the roles, locking down locations, and gathering necessary equipment.

With this in mind, our production dates are August 20th-22th and August 27th-29th 2021. We will be shooting in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. Post-production is scheduled to begin around September.

Our goal is to finish the film by the end of 2021 and submit it to various film festivals around the country! After our festival run, we plan to make a wider release to provide others the chance to experience the short. However, our first priority now is to focus on crafting a quality short film.

With this in mind, our goal is to reach $5,500 in funding to make this film possible! A detailed breakdown of how we are gonna use those funds can be seen on the wishlist section of our page! However, to give a quick summary here are the following categories we would be using the money toward:

- Equipment and lighting

- Locations

- Art department

- Food/ Craft services

- Post Production.

You can help us reach our goal by following our social media platforms and spreading the word about this project! Getting as many people to know about this project is as helpful as making a donation to this project!

KADEN:

Kaden lives in the gray zone of things. He only acts on what benefits himself and doesn't fully take responsibility for what he does. He’s always trying to be the alpha male of the group and wants everyone else to know that. He’s clever and makes sure that he has a proper way of executing his plans while always learning from previous jobs.

MIA:

Not afraid to get her hands dirty and get straight to the point. Can be unpredictable but in the sense that she likes to take matters into her own hands. While she can definitely hold her own, she does have a soft spot for the people in her life, sometimes paying more attention to other people’s needs rather than her own.

JULES:

Although Jules may seem laid-back, deep inside he is a very tough guy who’s not afraid of putting up a good fight when he needs to. He’s also a car guy who loves his vehicle as it is one of the few things that give him joy in the endless routine he always seems to find himself in. He has some history with Mia who is the only person that not only fully understands him but also makes him want to explore more substantial paths.

JAXON:

A wildcard who loves playing with people and using their desperation to his advantage. He’s also a businessman who will do anything to make sure no one messes with what he has established. He’s the master puppeteer who makes sure people do his dirty work for him.

About This Team

Our crew is composed of various film students who are eager to tell a bigger-scale story that will take the audience on a rollercoaster of emotions. As film students, we are always looking for ways to not only improve our craft but also try to push the limits of what a student production can look like. We strongly believe that this is the right project to assist with this.
