The Story

The Story

Discovering their child's life-altering sensitivity to synthetic dyes, first-time filmmaker Brandon Cawood, alongside wife Whitney Cawood, chronicles their journey to explore the profound impacts of these additives. Meeting with leading synthetic dye experts, they conduct in-person interviews with scientists and researchers, uncovering an unexpected series of shocking stories and surprising discoveries.

To Dye For: The Documentary captures Brandon and Whitney's investigation into the effects of synthetically dyed foods. As they delve into this vivid yet hidden world, a crucial question emerges: Are artificially dyed foods safe for consumption?

In a global exploration, the couple work to uncover the hidden impacts of synthetic dyes. Through intimate interviews with affected families, experts, scientists, and researchers, their documentary exposes the untold stories behind the vibrant hues, revealing the human impacts of synthetic dyes.

Astonishingly, a 2016 report by the Center for Science in the Public Health revealed that 43% of children's products contain artificial dyes. From movie popcorn to candy, medications, and more, these products are often brightly colored. Yet, why does the safety of artificial dyes remain a topic of widespread debate, while many other countries have banned them or mandated warning labels?

Embark on this eye-opening journey with Brandon and Whitney in To Dye For: The Documentary Unraveling the Spectrum as they uncover the hidden impacts and raise critical questions about the safety of artificial dyes. Join us, as we aim to shed light on the spectrum of impacts and ignite conversations about the safety of synthetic dyes.
