The Story
After my wife, Noel, passed away, I downloaded a dating app for the first time in my life. Noel and I met when we were only 22, a few years before the first dating apps even existed. I recall swiping on Bumble wishing "what if Noel's face popped up?" I wanted her to come back so badly. She was my best friend and the mother of my child. It finally dawned on me - what if this were to happen? What if I could actually go on a date with Noel? What would she tell me? How would she help me grieve, grow, and essentially move on to find new love?

I pitched the idea to one of my best friends in Los Angeles, Luke Hanlein, and with his blessing, I decided to fully finance, write, produce, and star in the short film, Ghosted, with the help of Sam Milman & Peter Vass (Bad Weather Films). Ghosted (the short) received 15+ awards and was accepted into 20+ film festivals. And every time the short was watched, audiences said, "you should turn this into a feature."
Fast forward to 2025, I return from SXSW destined to make this into a feature film. My fearless friend and producer of the short and this feature, Josette Eales, connected me with Matt Flanders to come on to help button up the feature screenplay and direct. And that's when it happened: the feature script that I had been writing for three years finally worked! Matt was able to tinker with the storyline just enough that I finally said - this is it, we have a movie!
So - why do this? Why raise $20,000 on Seed & Spark? Back in 2018/2019, I launched a GoFundMe to help with Noel's medical expenses. The turnout was far more than I ever could have expected. The outpouring of support was unbelievable and we raised over $117,000 via GoFundMe. So I figured, I might as well see if I can get to $20,000 for this film. I plan on investing $30,000 (thanks Bitcoin) and I am trying to raise an additional $200,000 from production companies and other investors. Total we need to shoot the film is $250,000 and we need it fast!
Ultimately, I am so grateful for filmmaking and storytelling for nothing quite helps me heal better than sharing my journey with all of you. That said, any contributions are appreciated as well as blasting the campaign out on your socials! Sending lots of love and strength to you all!
