The Story
I have been so inspired by filmmakers like Ava Duvernay, Lena Waithe, Nzingha Stewart and Ice Cube. The ladies inspire me because not only are they doing big things, but they are leading the way for other female directors and pulling them up along with them. Ice Cube is an inspiration because although he began his career as a rapper, he smoothly moved into the filmmaking genre and took it by storm. He wasn't an actor, but he did his thing. He wasn't a comic, but he wrote some hilarious stuff anyway. He was able to show how multi-faceted he is, and he didn't allow Hollywood, or anyone for that matter, put him in a box. One of his favorite quotes of mine is, "I've provided way more jobs than I've ever taken away." This proclamation has always stuck with me, and it's indicative of where I find myself today. Right now, in this moment. I've been an actor, a stand up, a writer, a television producer, and a segment director for "The Dr. Phil Show." I'm at the place now where I want to leave my mark on the world, and I know that I can do it through filmmaking. I have a ton of stories to tell. I also would love to provide jobs for all of the talented, marginalized people that I know, and many that I don't know.

Assisting me with my first short film narrative, will not only help me, but it will provide you and your loved ones with adventures in cinema that would not have happened otherwise. Until now, my voice has been silenced. And if you've ever wanted to do something but couldn't simply because of financial reasons, then you understand what all of this means. Finishing this film will be an accomplishment that we can all take credit for, because without you, there is no me, and without us, there is no "Trade." We rise, we fall, we sink, we swim... together.
I plan on putting this film into festivals, for starters. I would love for it to end up on large streaming platforms like Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon as well. My goal is to have it easily accessible to you.
