Mission Statement

Tsk Tsk is about a girl existing uniquely within an already strange world. The figs and plant are used to externalize her inner-most authentic self. This story is inspired by my life living in a Hollywood fruit orchard. I’m inviting the world into my home and sharing with them the fruits of my labor

Poject’s synopsis

A fruit-loving girl finds a unique plant in her garden and grows a strong, intimate connection to it. She forms a big fat crush on the partnered new girl next door, has a vibrant group of friends (who just happen to be in a cult), and lively neighbors. However, things quickly change for Girl when the powerful forces of the plant begin to affect her relationship throughout the neighborhood.

Why we're making this film?

I am a queer, female film director based in Hollywood with a lot of strange stories to tell. I have directed various award-winning films, music videos, and experimental exhibition pieces, often using fantasy and sci-fi elements to further explore my personal human experience.

Tsk Tsk is about a girl existing uniquely within an already strange world. The figs and plants are used to externalize her innermost authentic self—a reflection inspired by my own life living in a Hollywood fruit orchard. Through this story, I am inviting the world into my home and sharing with them the true fruits of my labor.

How and when you plan to use the money you raise to bring it to life?

Every dollar will support our cast and crew of 15+ through production and post-production—fueling cinematography, the art department, and plenty of good food to keep the creativity flowing. Your contribution isn’t just a donation; it’s an invitation to be part of queer art at its most vibrant, championing both emerging and seasoned film talent. The more we raise, the more magic we can pour into set design (think large-scale plants), art direction (we painted my entire West Hollywood home for the film), and high-camp makeup that stands out on screen.

About This Team

Tsk Tsk is a proud project included as part of the Bagged Lunch Collective, an ambitious team of young creatives that are each challenged to create and distribute their own best low-budget feature films by pooling resources and labor. Therefore, they share the reward together without the risk and allow for total freedom of creative exploration. One of the first projects to shoot in the collective’s inaugural year, Tsk Tsk aims to fundraise for crew meals, minimal expendable supplies, specialty equipment, and of course, plants!
