The Story
WELCOME TO LOWELYFE: TURF WARS
What if street/club dance battle culture, pro wrestling, anime, and Hip-hop mythology collided?
Lowelyfe: Turf Wars is a live Hip-Hop theater experience where dancers embody larger-than-life characters battling for control of mysterious sacred territories known as Turfs. Inspired by street and club dance culture, Turf Wars combines choreography, freestyle, storytelling, live music, fashion, and audience participation into a live experience unlike anything currently on stage.
THE WORLD
Society is plagued by ancestral amnesia.
A mysterious collapse has erased the memory of those who have passed away. Families forget their ancestors. Communities lose their stories. History begins to disappear.
At the same time, dancers across the world have begun vanishing.
In their place remain strange phenomena called Echotraces—rifts in space and time that mark the sites of the vanished.
Communities gather around these locations and call them Turfs.
Rumors spread:
“Turfs can heal.”
“Turfs can restore memory.”
“Turfs can change lives.”

THE CONFLICT
As the only people capable of reconnecting society to its forgotten past, dancers become powerful figures.
Some seek to serve.
Others seek control.
Battles erupt over the Turfs and the communities that surround them.
The question at the heart of Turf Wars is simple:
Will the dancers use their power to heal society—or exploit its forgetting?
THE WHY'S
Why is Lowelyfe: Turf Wars important?
We live in a culture struggling with loneliness, disconnection, and a loss of meaningful connection to our history, communities, and bodies. Lowelyfe: Turf Wars transforms those realities into a mythic world where dance becomes a force for remembrance, healing, and liberation.
Why $10.5k?
This $10.5k campaign helps us pay dancers, musicians, filmmakers, performance crew, production staff, and rehearsal & performance space to build the first season (4 live shows) of this universe.

Why is Quilan "Cue" Arnold the one to create and produce Lowelyfe: Turf Wars?
Quilan "Cue" Arnold is the creator of the Lowelyfe Universe, a dance-driven storytelling world exploring memory, identity, and liberation through movement.
His debut film, Lowelyfe Episode 1: The Only Way Out Is Through, received international recognition, including:
- Best Experimental Short — Dance Camera West
- Best Dance Film — International Black & Diversity Film Festival
- Best Director, Choreography for Camera, & Dance Film-- Black Lives Rising Film Festival
Building on the success of the film, Cue is expanding the Lowelyfe Universe into its first live experience: Lowelyfe: Turf Wars.
For over a decade, he has worked as a performer, choreographer, educator, and director throughout the United States while remaining deeply connected to the NYC/NJ and Austin street and club dance communities. Through onCUE Chronicles LLC, Cue brings together dancers, musicians, filmmakers, and community members to create stories that celebrate imagination, ancestral memory, and collective healing.
Now he's inviting audiences to step inside the Lowelyfe Universe, live, for the first time.
