About The Project
TurtleDove Films doesn't believe you have to be a seasoned veteran to make a really incredible film happen. The most important thing is that you have a need to tell a really great story -- it turns out we're not alone in this idea. But too often people are embarassed to ask the simple questions: Why do we slate? What's an OTS? How does one record sound? We know we were afraid... and lost. And in our first month we knew nothing about making a film and we met hundreds who were just like us: eager and hungry for something more! So we taught ourselves and we would like to continue that. We've already formed an LLC, but we know that to make it a sustainable venture we need to increase our production value and widen our audience -- this means new equipment, better final products, and more exposure through digital releases, festivals, and competition entries. All of that comes with a cost. This campaign is for that.

Current Team
About This Team
Elena Weinberg -- Co-founder, TurtleDove Films. Award winning actress and our resident director, sound operator, and producer. Born and raised in Central Texas, Elena started acting at the age of 3 in school plays. She's always excelled in leadership roles and has a take-charge attitude. She received her BA in Theatre from St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Her tastes are bipolar: she loves to laugh til her stomach hurts to a good sitcom or cry her eyes out to a riveting drama -- there is no middle-ground.
Duncan Coe -- Co-founder, TurtleDove Films. Award winning actor and writer and our resident writer, cinematographer, editor, and producer. Born and raised in the Texas Hill Country, Duncan started acting at the age of 13, mostly in a summer Shakespeare program for teens. He received his BA in Theatre and English Writing and Rhetoric from St. Edward's Univeristy in Austin Texas. He has a passion for sci-fi (he was named after Duncan Idaho from Dune) and drama with deep emotional ties to family (A River Runs Through It, August: Osage County).
