After two horrific first dates, best friends, Wendy and Lucy attempt to salvage the night with shots and swipes; more left than right. On the drunken walk home, they stumble upon a ‘Mystic’, who challenges their beliefs and gives them a spell to cast that will attract the man of their dreams. Desperate for a solution, Wendy and Lucy agree to experiment with the unknown and the occult.
The next morning, both women carry on as usual, until lo and behold! Wendy meets Joe, and Lucy meets Logan! Forgetting about the spell, the dating frenzy ensues. Lucy and Wendy are cautious and elated, as they fall for the new men in their lives.
Through an unexpected reveal, the friends discover they have been dating the same man! All three are forced to make a decision; with a surprise verdict from the man himself. However, Wendy and Lucy, newly convinced of their powers as spiritual beings, cast another spell opening up a pathway to even more dicks…spiritually.
Two Girls, One Candle is a romantic comedy about shattering the limiting beliefs that often shape our lives and the friendships that take you higher in order to manifest whatever your heart desires, when you align with the divine feminine.

Two Girls, One Candle is a single camera, romantic comedy with a splash of steadicam to give the show a fun, spiritual, sexy feeling! We aim to have vivid, sharp and clear images to support the comedy in the show; highlighting the unique dynamic and chemistry between the two female leads.
Medium shots and wide shots (to catch some delicious comedic moments), and close-up shots to catch the intimacy between our characters. Think "Don't Trust the B#$%! in Apartment 23" meets, "Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion" meets "Practical Magic" meets Sex and the City.

I spent years in New York City pounding the pavement as an actress and a singer; from theater to musicals, to commercial, and film and television auditions, all over the city. Sometimes I had three appointments in a single day. And no matter how good I knew my work was, something felt off. Was it me? Was it the fact that as an Asian American woman, the industry is harder for my demographic? Probably. But, what else wasn't clicking?
Even in my dating life, I had to battle negative stereotypes from the men I met and struggle to love the body and face I was born with. Eventually, New York felt like a dead end to me. Maybe I just needed a vacation?
It's hard to protect and isolate your energy in a city like New York, which can feel like a swirling cesspool of everyone else's neurosis. How does one use the Law of Attraction to their advantage when the entire L train is swimming around in your auric field?
So I moved to Los Angeles. The bright sunshine, the seventy degree clear days, the ocean and the gorgeous sunsets helped me heal; physically, emotionally and spiritually. Los Angeles is where I learned that our inner energy, often influences our outer manifestations. Los Angeles mirrors all the parts of myself, the witchey woo, the nature lover and the spell caster, that felt stifled in the Big Apple.
I listened to Abraham Hicks ad nauseam and added meditation, Reiki, and other wellness practices to my daily routines. Los Angeles helped me expand as a woman and an artist. And my friendship with Tricia Brooks has been a consistent mirror of my spiritual progression and growth. With her, I learned that happiness takes work.

I wrote Two Girls, One Candle, with the intention to show the world, that we all have the power to raise our vibration and attract what we desire, if we do the work on ourselves, from the inside out. All it takes is a little honesty and courage to access and own that alignment.
It's my mission to make our audience, and their inner child, laugh all the way down to their lower chakras. The series is also a bridge between my work as an actress and my work as a stand up comedian. There is a profound silliness and child-like humor between Tricia and I, that is reflected in the dynamic between our characters, Wendy and Lucy. I wish for everyone to access that part of themselves and feel free and accepted. Sisterhood, spirituality (not religion), and sexiness! Be the light for another, and you'll both shine like stars.
Had I known how to be more deliberate with my energy, how to deliberately transform my vibration who knows what could've shifted for me in New York? Two Girls, One Candle (Season One) is just the beginning of this journey of self love, empowerment, and the invaluable friendships that help take us there. I hope to take the audience there too.

We follow Lucy and Wendy through all the best Los Angeles has to offer; from its unique dining experiences, to the Nature lover’s paradise, foodie pop-ups, and its new age holistic healing culture.
As our ‘she-roes’ dismantle the limiting beliefs within themselves, they discover a world of inner power, which in turn, dismantles the mirage of Los Angeles from a dating desert, to a wet romantic grassland, fervent with flirtation, catch 22s and unexpected challenges to their identity. Spirits, Candles, and Dick Pics, Oh My!

Tough on the outside and extra soft on the inside, Wendy is your not-so-average alpha woman. What choice did she have? It ain't easy being Asian in America! Comfortable in her own skin, Wendy has a thick shell protecting her generous, savvy heart. She's the kind of friend who would do anything for the ones she loves. But don't test her!
Wendy is the office manager of STRIDE, a holistic health and wellness facility that specializes in treating the elderly. She's a closeted optimist who's shy to admit that what she truly desires is to be in a romantic relationship with a man she trusts and admires, so she can finally let down her guard and breath. Sassy, wise and sexy!
 copy.png)

Lucy is a passionate wellness and fitness coach at STRIDE. She lights up the room with every single one of her 10,000 steps! Dedicated to her patients and her friends, she is adamantly considerate of others, even if it means compromising her own needs. Lucy loves to explore the outdoors and experiment with new wellness recipes by healing her patients with food and flex.
Underneath, Lucy struggles with feeling worthy of the love and life she desires and is shy to embrace her power, out of guilt and fear. She often gives more than she should get back, particularly in dating, but she looks super cute while doing it! And she's the positivity police to Wendy's street cynic!

Logan, is our handsome, smart and charismatic, too-good-to-be-true single entrepreneur leading man, complete with his own baggage. He has a habit of wooing his way into the hearts of complex women, only to exit when he feels challenged by their strength, or feelings for them.
Hoping to find someone to anchor him, Logan is the man with the world as his oyster, but no idea how to shuck it! Looking for love in unconventional ways and places, Logan surprises the two female leads with his own standards, when they are all confronted with the truth.

The ‘Mystic’, is the female presenting ‘mystical advisor’, and catalyst to the romantic spiritual path that ignites our story. Originally from a family of psychics, or possible con artists, in Southern New Jersey, the Mystic owns a new age boutique shop called, Unicorn Alley in West Los Angeles, that specializes in crystals, candles and the ‘mystical arts’.
Late one night, she sells Lucy and Wendy a candle, as a hoax, only to be surprised that the candle spell actually works! Now faced with the validity of her own powers, the Mystic parallels Wendy and Lucy in their journey towards self discovery, inner power and aligning with the divine feminine. The Mystic is smart, eccentric, and thoroughly seasoned from life. Think Jersey with a crystal ball in Los Angeles proper.
.png)

Colleen is a regular patient at STRIDE, a widow, and tough mother figure to Lucy and Wendy. A baby boomer who most likely partied with Andy Warhol and Mikhail Barishnokov in her hey day, Colleen was definitely a man-eater in her prime. Think Sophia Loren meets Estelle Getty. Colleen enjoys the company of Lucy and Wendy, as much as they enjoy her pearls of wisdom, which they need.

Some of you may have swiped left on a guy like Karim. A chronic gamer with his own Youtube channel of 40,000+ followers, Karim has high expectations of the women he swipes right on, but low expectations for himself.
Karim exists on a diet of pizza, In-N-Out burgers, and Gatorade in a one bedroom apartment in Santa Clarita. Los Angeles adjacent! Entitled and entertaining, he sets a low bar that's high with laughs.
The role of Karim will be played by the versatile, tour-de-force Brazilian and Los Angles based actor, Wesley Guimarães.

Lewis is the middle-aged bachelor in love with himself and his past. Holding onto a high, outdated opinion of himself from his youth, he's a talented artist who tries to impress WENDY on a dinner date at a hip restaurant, only to be humiliated by his own, over ‘bite’.
Every woman has dated a Lewis. Was it good for you? It probably was for him. Running from the truth of the man he has become, Lewis is rude to the service staff (a turn-off), and proves to lack the dental hygiene necessary for a second date with Wendy.

The budget we hope to raise for Two Girls, One Candle will cover production, and post-production costs, for the first season, which is made up of four short episodes, each around 15-20 minutes long. We will shoot out locations to save time and money, and aim to complete, including post production, at least the very first episode.

We believe that “Two Girls, One Candle” will attract a wide diaspora of audience members. Our show will resonate with frustrated single women, and men. and most significantly with people who believe in the law of attraction and manifesting.
The spiritual new age community is growing in mainstream popularity with global spiritual products and services (apps, retreats, crystals, meditation tools) profiting $16.7 billion USD in 2025 according to Maia Research. And according to the Pew Research Center, twenty-one percent of the American population prefer to be spiritual over religious.
"Two Girls, One Candle" is also an advocate for diversity and the LGBTQ+ and trans community in its representation of characters. Because of the wide age range of our characters, we believe it will also appeal to generations X to Z, with a chunk of millennials in between.
Comedy is universal in that it gives everyone a chance to laugh at the pains that were meant to destroy us.

Since graduating, Hu has performed across the US in tour de force roles in theater, and worked with notable artists such as Tony Award Winning producer John Glines, Obie Award winning director Richard Caliban, and starred opposite film and television stars like Raven-Symone, Matt LeBlanc, Tim Allen, Mark Harmon, LL Cool J, Chris O'Donnell, Skye P. Marshall, and Oscar Award winning actresses like Halle Berry and Reese Witherspoon.
In Los Angeles, Hu worked as a freelance writer for Backstage's formerly Unscripted; a Blog for Actors, where she wrote of her experiences and perspectives as an Asian American actress and woman in today's industry and ever challenging world. As a stand-up comedian, she has performed at the Improv, the Comedy Store, M-Bar. Two Girls, One Candle, is the comedic breath of fresh air Hu wishes to share, with the intention of connecting society to a higher power and for women who need help lighting their inner flame, by sparking it with laughter.

Tricia Brooks is a film/TV and theater actor with dual citizenship in the USA, and UK. In addition to her BA from San Francisco State University, she studied improvisation at The Groundlings and UCB, and trained in Shakespeare at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
She has performed stand-up at the Comedy Store and the Hollywood Improv. Brooks is best known for her roles in "At Last" (HBO Max) and “Spades” (Amazon Prime), nominated for Best Drama at the critically acclaimed T.O. WebFest in Toronto.
Most recently she was seen in the dynamic romantic comedy “Yvonne Speaks”, which hit the festival circuit, including the Burbank International Film Festival. Brooks won best actress at the Paris Film Awards in Paris for "No Trophies", a science-fiction comedic short where she masterfully played a werewolf.
Two Girls, One Candle, is the quirky comedy Brooks always wished existed; a series that explores the humor, depth, and soul of female friendships and self-love, with a focus on romance and the platonic, soulful relationships that shape who we are.
